Zanjeer Remake: Priyanka Chopra will join in September

The first schedule of Apoorva Lakhia’s Zajeer has been wrapped up and Priyanka Chopra, who plays the female lead, will join the crew in September.

“We have shot 40 percent of the film in Mumbai with the other star cast. The film should be done by November end and is scheduled for a next year release. Priyanka will join the crew by September” informed Lakhia.

While Priyanka will step into Jaya Bachchan’s role, Telugu superstar Ram Charan Teja plays Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic character in the Zanjeer remake.

The ‘Zanjeer remake’ will be produced by Amit Mehra, son of late filmmaker Prakash Mehra who had directed and produced the original ‘Zanjeer’ in 1973. The film’s super success turned Amitabh Bachchan into a superstar. The rest is history.
