Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has said she would miss the presence of Shah Rukh Khan by her side, when her film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ releases with ‘Dilwale’ on December 18.
“I am definitely going to miss Shahrukh on that day. Eight years ago, it was a very special day when I started my journey, my career. So, the feeling is there that I will miss him as he is part of some other movie. But having said that, we both are doing very different films. As an audience it is very exciting that we will get to see two such different kinds of movies” Deepika said.
The last time a SRK starrer clashed with a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film, Deepika was making her Bollywood debut in ‘Om Shanti Om’. This time around, she is the opposite camp.
The genre is no different – Dilwale is a mass entertainer, while Bajirao Mastani, much like Saawariya has lesser appeal. However, Ranbir and Sonam were making their debut back in 2007. This time around, Deepika is one of the top stars in the industry and Ranveer has also established himself as a rising star. The success of ‘Baahubali’ has also given the ‘epic historical’ genre a big boost.
With 5 days to go for the release of the two films, there is nervousness in both camps. The stakes are high and with the multiplex audience making smarter choices, the film with better content is bound to win the much-hyped box office battle.
