Who will act in Delhi 6?

First Abhishek Bachchan then Hrithik Roshan then Akshay Kumar and then again Hrithik and now the latest news is that Ranbir Kapoor will star in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra?s Delhi 6.

Just a couple of weeks ago, HT Caf? wrote about how Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra?s casting for his next movie, Delhi 6, is becoming a game of musical chairs. Every day sees a new name popping up for the leading man. The latest name being circulated in trade circles is Ranbir Kapoor.

The project was first announced with Abhishek Bachchan playing the main lead. Due to prior commitments, Jr Bachchan asked Mehra to postpone the shooting. Unable to comply, the director immediately decided to go for a replacement and zeroed in on Hrithik Roshan.

Since Ashutosh Gowariker?s Jodhaa Akbar took time to go on the floors and are still trying to catch up to be on schedule, Roshan again asked Mehra to hold on for a while.

According to a source, ?But instead Mehra preferred to go for another big actor and approached Akshay Kumar. At that point in time Akshay was shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala?s Hey Baby in Sydney, Australia. Although Rakeysh didn?t directly speak to Akshay, he did send the message across to him. Before any developments could take place, Rakeysh decided to go back to Hrithik once again, for reasons best known him.?

The source added that there is much happening around Ranbir Kapoor. The shooting of his debut film Saawariya is expected to be wrapped up soon. Though, there is a possibility of Kapoors reviving their banner RK Films once again with Ranbir, they are still working on the details.

Apart from this, Ranbir Kapoor is also committed to do films with Yashraj but no date has been blocked yet.

?Rakeysh wants to finish the film at one go. Earlier, he wanted to shoot some time in February during the winter but that doesn?t seem to be possible now,? said the source.

We tried contacting Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and co-producer Ronnie Screwvala of UTV but neither of them responded to our text messages. Typical, no?
