Welcome Back has recorded the 3rd highest opening day of 2015, beating films like ABCD 2 and Gabbar Is Back. The film starring John Abraham in the lead, opened well because the first film in the series was hugely popular and had tremendous recall value even though the last film released in 2007.
Only two films – Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Akshay Kumar’s Brothers – both of which released on significantly higher number of screens, were ahead on Day 1 at the domestic box office.

Ouatimd was also a sequel of critically and commercially successful film ouatim and release in holiday. But welcome back release in non-holiday. Welcome is commercially successful but penned by critics. And result is here. Ouatimd is boxoffice disestar. Welcome back seems to be successful because it has +ve wom. So grow up people who think akshya is bigger than john. John is 1000……times better than gobar kumar.

Very good decision of makers to replace akshya in wb. Otherwise it will be 9 cr at first day. Now welcome back ( wb) is safe in hand otherwise it will be case of ouatimd. Despite release in holiday it was disaster at b.o. john is bankable star than akshya no doubt. Akshya is big zero. For me he is never a bankable actor.

Safe to say even if Joker Boy had starred in it with same release then similar collections would have been end result but budget would have been 20cr higher ensuring a FLOP verdict…!
