The trade had huge expectations from Veer and as of today, the Salman Khan starrer directed by Anil Sharma has managed to live upto it.
As we all know by now, business at multiplexes all over India was on the lower side (30-40%) right from Day 1 (Friday). Monday witnessed a further crash and the film has been rejected at the plexes. Collections down south are disastrous, business in two key centers in Karnataka – Bangalore and Mangalore – is way below expectations.
But what’s heartening is the fact that, the target audience of Veer, have taken to the film big time. Business at B and C centers in India is strong and the trending is pretty good.
Collections were strong on Friday, followed by a minor dip on Saturday, picked up again with Sunday recording the best collections for the weekend. Weekdays were always going to be crucial and the film has sustained well – Monday witnessed an expected dip in collections, but business on Republic day (Tuesday) was record breaking, similar to the boost that Wanted received on its first Monday.
Below are the day to day collections of Veer
- Friday – 7 crores
- Saturday – 6 crores
- Sunday – 7.5 to 8 crores
- Monday – 3 crores
- Tuesday – 6.5 crores
5 day total – approx 31 crores.
Week 1 is expected to be somewhere between 34 – 36 crores.
What remains to be seen in the next few days
- Can Veer sustain and match its Monday collections during the remaining two weekdays i.e today and tomorrow?
- Will the release of Rann and Ishqiya affect its collections? Unlikely to, since both releases this week are targeted mainly at the multiplex audience.

for Veer’s Super hit status it need 33 cr plus distributer shares and for hit it needs 30 cr distributer share.

Prity, if Veer crosses 60 crore mark, it will be a super-hit, not hit or semi hit. But I dnt think Veer will go dat far. Veer will finish with 55 crore net in India nd 12 crore overseas. And it will get a clean hit status.

the budget is somewhere 40-45 cr it varies from site to site eg wikipedia declares 40 cr and even on the promo release media declared it 45 cr budget and indicine gave somewhere 44 cr think so on all a/c we take the budget as 45 cr
i think till 25th feb veercan collect 55-60 cr easily.
if on 30,31 jan
veer collect 7-8 cr
if on 2nd week veer wl earn 12-13 cr

veer will finish as an above average or even semi-hit status. which is very good for a periodic action film as these films dont usually do too well at the box office. but thanks to salman khans performance and an entertaining action and feel good factor, the film will be a success.
in either case the film will make some profit. that is the main thing i.e. recover costs and make some profit.
so in that regards veer is a success. but once again i must highlight there seems to be a negative agenda by the media against salman , as was the case earlier with akshay kumar. they seem to be hell bent on bringing this man down. maybe because he appears too powerful and they dont like that.

In week 1, it has 20 crore distributor share, it was confirmed by BOI only.
So if VEER collects 40 cr, then DS will be 23-24 crore, means AVG.

Another take. KI was reported to have a Budget of 65 crores. It made 47-48cr nett and got An Above AVG tag. How Come???
Fact is none of the Film Makers in India are a Big Fool to Invest A amount as high as 65 cr, 70 cr or 80 cr.
These are just media made figures. No Producer will Invest Money Such that it would need 70 cr just to recover it’s amount ;)
