Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.

Assoc. producer has confirmed on facebook dat weekend collection is 21.4cr including telgu version…… so BOI either havn’t included the telgu version or they’ll correct it later as they hav done with the friday’s buisness… so all salman fans njoy!!!!

According to what i read- Veer needs 30cr DS for average. nw weekend DS s around 11-12cr. it still needs18-20cr DS for average.
Hina eid was on a saturday, it had not exteneded holday, also the film released when the promotion was very very low, infact the promotion mainly started in its final week before release. even sallu has an exteneded holiday in tuesday, sallu still yet to give 25 crore net weekend. but i like sallu, hopefully akki and he teams up to launch a campaign against how audience shud not by these people, these critics was industry loose crores of money, always after akki and sallu just because they are not product of johar and yashraj
deepak success means if it gets an above average tag then its a success, but to be a hit it needs to do more 30cr distributor share which means it needs to do atleast 55 crore net, hope it does and shuts the critics, but if the 1st week business is 31 crore net, then it needs sustain very well 2nd week to be a hit, the 2nd week atleast needs to do 15 to 16 crore net, then it has a good chance of a hit status.

comparisons happen, u see fans comparing, but this whole comparison is bullcrap, the more stars we have the more the industry will benefit financially, it irritates me how media calls srk numner 1 when he didn’t give biggest hit in 2000, wich was hirthik, 2001, sunny deol, 2003, hirthik, 2004, srk, 2005 sallu, 2006 hirthik, 2007 akki by far, 2008, amir, 2009, amir, so why srk is given NO 1 tag?? as each act had their spell being at top.

There is a big drop in morning shows of multiplexes .. single screens saw a 10% drop ..its running housefull in many single screens mohan talkies,Galaxy,santosh,narendra …. monday collections should be around 5-6 crore

first of all u r diverting the topic 2nd thing you people say that perodic movie don’t taste the sucess last was JA right I have given the collection status of JA ok forget JA also we are happy for veer because veer is perodic movie and inspite being a perodic movie it is holding the box office at tight position and second thing is that inspite being thrashed by critics and false propaganda of the movie that movie is dull at the box office this movie is emerging as sucess at the box office window and u can compare the opening of the last perodic movie then you will know why we are happy for veer and about the masala even jodha akbar had an love story in it The opening weekend of the movie was 13 cr and veer is par ahead and how can u compare the perodic movies and comedy. comedy is all time favo of the audience and in that sense ranbir is even more powerfull then akhshay how can u forget ajap prem k gazab kahani if u want compare both the films ok gadhe ghode ek race main dode kya hesaab hai tera.
arshan veer is a massy movie, the treatment of it is very massy, jA wasn’t mass oritentated but has the love story after all
