Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year has topped the list of all time highest opening weekend collections in Bollywood, edging out the highest grosser of all time Dhoom 3. SRK now has two films that have crossed the 100 crore mark in 3 days, as Chennai Express including paid previews collected 100.42 crore.
We have included all films that have crossed 50 crore in their first 3 days at the box office. Salman Khan dominates the list, what with all his 5 films released after 2012 featuring in the Top 15. However, in the last couple of years, no film of his has swept the top records like Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger.
Hrithik Roshan has been consistent, both Krrish 3 and Bang Bang opened well. Singham Returns could be the turning point in Ajay Devgn’s career as far as records are concerned, even Action Jackson is expected to take a big start. Akshay Kumar films haven’t taken a big enough open in recent times, Holiday relied on word-of-mouth to take it over the 100 crore mark. Gabbar, Singh Is Bling or Brothers could be his big openers.
Sidharth Malhotra’s Ek Villain opened very well, but just fell a few lakhs below 50 crore, Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was the biggest opener during the Post-IPL period. All eyes will now be on Aamir Khan’s PK.

There was a time when films like paheli lagaan jodha akbar and swades used to get average and flop status because the Indian audience was not much aware but when they have become so , for instance Bhaag Milkha Bhaag 100 cr then our superstars like SRK Aamir and Hrithik have become unaware giving HNY D3 & BB.Their class films can earn much more than these and that too with modest budget.
Where is ek villain?which also collect 51 to 52 cores in 3 days mean in opening weak..
