This iconic dialogue from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaalia holds very true for all the biggest superstars in Bollywood, for they have been the trend setters, youth icons and most importantly the ATM’s of the industry. It’s now time for us to implement the concept of our newly introduced ‘Star Power model’ and find out the leading actors of our country. This piece will evaluate the Top 5 Superstars of 2014. Before proceeding, let us clarify on a few vital points.
1. In the initial stages, this ranking will purely be specific to a calendar year. We’ll judge the star power for a single year in one article, like this article focuses on 2014 only. These rankings shall not be based upon the overall career of any actor and there may be a scenario when the star power of an established superstar ‘A’ falls behind that of a new superstar ‘B’ in a particular year.

Key Findings
1. The difference between the actual opening collections and the star power of a star is nothing but a reflection of his career choices, script sense and marketing abilities. If the opening is higher than the star power for an actor, it means that he is making smart decisions by positively utilising the impact of X-Factors and vice versa.
2. Going by the above concept, Shahrukh Khan seems to playing his cards better than anybody else while Akshay Kumar is someone who is not exploiting his star power to the fullest.

That -12.5% for Holiday A Soldier is never off Duty’s release date is damn unfair man.Just because IPL ended few days before its release,it’s being termed as a good release date.
IPL ended on June 1 2014…Holiday released on 6th June 2014..Still you are deducting a heavy 12.5% for it!!

Is it not your same article of 2014 you are using? I don’t dispute this but be more relative atleast! Your article on top Bollywood actors of 2014 from August to November to mid January 2015. Your top actors were ranked Salman Aamir SRK Hritik Ranbir Ajay Akshay Sid. You quoted “Ajay needs 118 crs for AJ to topple Ranbir. Same you said Akshay is fighting 6th place with Ajay until Baby is released and earns more than AJ. But that was 2015. So how manage You altered your ranking now? Assuming it was another site good and fine but it’s the same @indicine that gave those rankings from August 2014 to January2015? You consider 32 crs opening a joke? You just can’t calculate star power.
SRK’s Happy New Year released on the biggest holiday of the year while PK and Kick were normal friday releases.
Adding/Subtracting 4% won’t cut out the advantage HNY had.
Also, how the hell did you calculate average ticket price?!
Did you go to every multiplex and single screen in the country and add the ticket price of every freaking show? Or did you just presume it, just bcoz PK was a Xmas release?
I can agree Salman to be above all, but SRK? Hell no!
The guy hasn’t crossed 210 crores till now while Aamir is nearing 350 in both India and Overseas.

Wow, this is a new one for me. This Archit Mishra went to each and every movie going guy in the country and asked him his interest in the listed movies before their releases.
Why all these calculations when it is out in the open that no one, and i mean, NO ONE, can come even close to Salman Khan in raw star power.
No matter how much Indicine and srk fans try to show that srk is popular, the fact remains that with a year long promotions, world tour, big production house, popular actress, festival holidays and big support cast, srk’s still cannot touch Salman in terms of star pull.
