A.R. Murugadoss’s Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki will release on 10th January 2014. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, is about a military officer who attempts to hunt down a dreaded terrorist, and the two unleash a chain of mind games.
There were rumours yesterday that the makers were keen on releasing their film during the Republic day weekend next year.
But now with the film slated to be first major release of 2014, we wonder if Salman Khan’s Mental is set to release on 24th January.

@suheel, akki is not afraid of anyone or clash. Even when he was asked of clash with ce. He said eid will accomodate both films.salman give him chance to release his film on eid. Now it was his turn. He preponed due to freindship.

It will be either a superhit or a bb because now a days remakes are doing gud on box office. . . .sonakshi is very lucky that she is always getting movies with superstars. . .anyway all the best to this movie. .
Masala films with some content are 100% succeses,and filmmakers should try to add more content to their films rather than item songs,non sense comedy.
Films like Ghajini,Agneepath,Wanted are examples of well made masala movies.
Films like SOS,Khiladi 786,Himmatwala will be discarded in future.
Then for sure Salman will use the Republic day for MENTAL.

if anyone anounces the date,and they change their date because of other movie is releasing the same ,the we can call it as,they r sdcared.mental release date not confirmed yet.

thupakki is a smart film but with some notable plot holes, irritating love story and an underwhelming climax. hope they have sorted them out in the remake. and who is the villain in the remake?

? It releases after a gap of just 3 months after Akshay’s BOSS (October 8)
? It releases 2 weeks post Dhoom:3 release around Christmas (December 25)
? After 2 weeks, it may face a stiff competition from Salman’s MENTAL
? Non-holiday release
? A new year does not usually start with a bang and this film is the first major release in 2014
? In my opinion, they should release it in February or March 2014

Actor Vijays milestone although he was poor in acting department i enjoyed the movie thoroughly
