The Jungle Book has dominated the box office in its second week in India. The film is on course to become the highest grosser of 2016 this weekend.
The second weekend business was affected by the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN, but the Hollywood film took over Monday onwards and became the first choice for moviegoers during the weekdays.
It’s easily the best word-of-mouth film of the year, as The Jungle Book has shown outstanding trends both in its first week and second.
The combined show-count of the Hindi and English version of ‘The Jungle Book’ will be more than last week’s release FAN. At PVR Juhu in Mumbai, FAN has been allotted 5 shows, while The Jungle Book has 9 shows (5 English, 4 Hindi). That seems to be the case pretty much all over, across all the major multiplex chains.
The third weekend business of The Jungle Book will decide if the film can go on to cross the 150 crore mark.

Is this one of the biggest 2nd wk totals of all time? I think PK n BB were obviously MASSIVE n maybe 3 idiots was around 50cr but I cant think of many other films doing near 50cr worth business in 2nd wk.

overseas gross collection 80 crore so net collection approx 40 crore so overseas share =20 crore
so total loss=105-(15+45+20)=25 crore flop
@navin bajirao krrish3 dhoom3 kick had btr 2nd week than jungle book which anyways has been hugely benifted by the hindi version led by irrfan nana priyanka & childhood nostalgia. Remove d hindi version’s collection and it wouldn’t hv done more than 85cr in India. Anyways Hollywood is breathing it’s last few breath in Indian bo for this year. As soon as civil war run would b over Hollywood will also b over 4 this year. Back to 5-35cr lifetime for films. Lol
