Gyan Correa’s Gujarati film ‘The Good Road’, India’s official entry for the 86th Academy Awards, is out of the Oscar race. In a list released by the Academy, 9 films were shortlisted to advance to the next round of voting in the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category.
‘The Good Road’ was selected ahead of acclaimed films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, The Lunch Box, Vishwaroopam (Tamil), English Vinglish and Celluloid (Malayalam).
From the 9 films listed below, 5 will be nominated in the ‘Foreign Language’ category.

They should have sent “The Lunchbox” in place of it. Haven’t watched ‘The Good Road’ yet, but people those who have watched it, are saying ‘The Lunchbox’ was better.

I think that the academy award judges don’t want Bollywood films to win!!! I saw the trailer of the Good Road now.. a boring story for sure.. or those judges love boring films.. Bhag M. Bhag is the one which really deserve the Oscar.. obviously they don’t want Bollywood to win!!!!!
