Update: The gap between Dil Dhadakne Do and Tamasha has widened on Day 5. The total collections in 5 days – Dil Dhadakne Do 47.91 crore and Tamasha 47.37 crore.
Tamasha vs Dil Dhadakne Do makes for a very interesting box office comparison because both films were produced at approximately the same costs, Tamasha was the bigger film in terms of star cast and the target audience was the same.
The weekend collections of both films were similar too – Tamasha collected Rs 38.23 crore and Dil Dhadakne Do collections was a little lower at Rs 37.05 crore. But the difference could well turn out to be the drop on Monday. While Dil Dhadakne Do collected Rs 5.77 crore on its 4th day at the box office, Tamasha has collected Rs 5.07 crore.
The trend suggests that Tamasha is set to finish below the lifetime collections of Dil Dhadakne Do, unless it manages to turn things around in its second weekend.
It’s also worth noting that the Zoya Akhtar film competed against Emraan Hashmi’s Hamari Adhuri Kahani in its second week and Varun Dhawan’s ABCD 2 in Week 3. Tamasha has no major competition, except ‘Hate Story 3’ which is targeted at the masses.

Indicine dont underestimate Hate story 3. Tamsha does not have 3 open weeks. Hate story is big franchise and youtube views suggest audience are waiting for it. It will be a surprise 100cr entrance of 2015.

Stop overating Deepika that she is not bigger than Pc and we still have anushka, anil and farhan akhtar, give me a break maybe rk is a little a head of Ranveer but not big margin. Ranveer has done a conventional film with dp and it did 116cr if you are making yjhd that big.The only thing that yjhd beat Ramleela was exremely churtbuster songs.
Interesting comparison between Tamasha and DDD . Both movies were targeted towards Multiplexes and both of them have Youngsters Ranbir and Ranveer . I don’t think Tamasha will do more than DDD . Both these movies did solid business in Overseas Markets but could not do desired business in India as of now in case of Tamasha . DDD was a pretty mediocre movie and it was disappointing to see something like this from Zoya Akhtar who gave ZNMD . Its Box Office Verdict is Average . Tamasha i don’t know because i have not seen the movie but some people are loving the movie very much while some are saying it is pathetic and crap . Whether it will be a Flop, Average or Above Average we will get to know in the next few days .

If you take Yjhd from Rk, his his only other big hit film is barfi, forget rajneeti it was multistarer and had aj.is there any other rk film that grossed above 68cr.For these overated youngstans to have any chance they need chutbuster songs just like Emraan hashmi give emraan hashmi Dp and sharada plus kissing scences, imean real kissing scences with muchismo not like the one in 2 states where arjun kapoor was shrinking and alia was picking the pieces together, he will deliver 100cr without much fuse.

Tamasha is unarguably the best love story of 2015. The best direction,flawless Screenplay,enigmatic yet twisty Story line and power- packed performances is what Tamasha made up of.
It is a successful attempt at exploring love, life and the love for life in its best form – free from the shackles of society.The beautiful locations of Corsica, trippy camera angles and well-stationed frames ensure the movie takes the audience on a journey to a fantasy land – one where you do not have to play by the boring rules of real life. The songs are treat to ears and the characters are well thought and brilliantly built.I could not even find a single flaw.
Ranbir Kapoor has undoubtedly taken this film to a greater height with his Best till date acting.His face is expressive,he delivers the dialogues with the needed vigour and convinces the audience that life is what you make. Deepika yet again performs brilliantly as expected. Hats off! Imtiaz ali.
This is a must watch even if the trailer looks just okay, this film is surely something new and that new is a view which is Fantastic, Superb, Awe-inspiring, Ground breaking and yet very True.
