Tamasha was steady on its 4th day at the box office, but the collections were on the lower side. Apart from a couple of metro cities, the film had a fairly big fall almost all over.
The Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone starrer has collected Rs 5.07 crore on Monday, to take its 4-day total to Rs 43.3 crore. The film is now looking at first week business of around Rs 55 crore.
The drop from Friday was around 55%, which can be termed as ‘good’ if the opening was big. In Tamasha’s case, since the opening was below-the-mark, Monday had to be in the 6 crore range.
In comparison, Singh Is Bling collected 7.1 crore on Monday, Phantom collected 4.4 crore, Welcome Back 7.52 crore, Brothers 6.23 crore, Dil Dhadakne Do 5.77 crore.
It remains to be seen where the film goes from here, because Tamasha would have to show major growth in business in its second weekend to have any chance of recovering costs.
The makers though, have already celebrated the ‘success’ of their film.

The message was told in an unconvincing way. And what the hell was Piyush Mishra(story-teller) doing at the end?
I had a lot of issues with the film. The people in theatre in which i watched the film were either laughing or leaving the film during interval .
The technical aspects saved the film from being a complete disaster. And yeah, of course the songs!! .
The film barely touched our hearts and just for some sporadic good scenes and Agar tum sath ho song, i will give this film generous 2/5 stars and 0.5 extra for unintentional humour .
So 2.5/5 for this extremely predictable film told in a very unpredictable manner.

Its unlikely that it will recover its cost and should be another flop of Run-Beer. But jsut read somewhere that tamsha team celebrated success party. I mean WTF. Your film is not doing good. Mixed review from ciritics, rejected by audience and you are throwing success party. That is a cheap stunt to promote the film. Poor.

First of all indicine should stop posting negative articles on movies. Tamasha is not a brainless masala movie which anyone would go and watch. I don’t understand these number games, but those people here who are willing to see Tamasha fails, are the ones who are willing to see Indian cinema fails. That’s the difference between Bollywood and Hollywood. This movie is getting appreciated around the world.. WHY? Because it is an artistic and a cult movie. But many people in India cannot understand it since their level of understanding is very low. Brainless masala movies doing 100-200crs is not something to celebrate. So all the haters, understand what is your IQ level…!!

According to Hindustan Times the budget is 60 cr, so who is right ?? And the film will probably end up being average or semi-hit, wich is quite good considering the fact that it wasn’t a typical commercial flick and Ranbir starred in 3 consecutive flops… It’s not a great success but still a relief !

how can they hold a party without knowing its lifetime business?
i mean it can crash today or tomorrow and they can still flop domestically
or are those parties just a way to promote the film to show people that its running good and hope they go to the cinema to watch it ?
