Two of the most awaited films of 2016 – Sultan and Dangal – are both based on the story of wrestlers. While Dangal is a real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat (amateur wrestler and senior Olympics coach), the story of Sultan is completely fictional.
But the newly released teaser of Sultan seems to be heavily inspired (would be an understatement) from a video of Geeta Phogat’s story – which was released more than a year ago in January 2015.
Geeta Phogat is Mahivir Singh Phogat’s first daughter and her character will be played by Fatima Sana Shaikh in Dangal.
Watch the two videos below and check out the similarities for yourself. Everything from the voice over, pull-ups of Anushka Sharma, her taking on a male wrestler, then fighting a female wrestler and the message of women empowerment – every bit of it has been included in the second teaser of Sultan.

& YES Aamir also said that there is no similarity between Dangal & Sultan.
BUT if Anushka’s character is inspired from ‘Geeta Phogat’
Then DANGAL will be affected.

For all those persons who are defending this “inspiration” by saying that there have been copies and inspirations before, yes it is agreed that there have been before.
But this copying is looking more in bad taste coz Dangal and Sultan are two movies which are yet to be released and are in direct competition with each other. Both are on same topics as well so Sultan team should have been careful coz this will reflect poor on them only.

1- you misled the world by deliberately not pointing out the similarities between Billu 1 and Kings Billu 2 despite me regularly pointing this out to you bcoz You were blinded by the moolah Laal Mirchi flooded your offices with in order for you to look the other way or
2- you missed your last few eye examinations
You call that inspiration, well so if any woman wrestler fights with a man and them a women, she is liable to be sued as she is following the life of an established wrestler…

It does not look like a copy of the video, but if there is a woman wrestler in a movie, there needs to be certain scenes to fully explain her character, these are how her life was before wrestling, how she started her rise to stardom, and then how she won a major event…All these events are shown..And since these are women and this is india, they will do everything they can to fulfill the women empowerment speeches..,
I personally don’t support women wrestling but this is too much…Half action movies have same teasers and trailers…If you want to compare 2 movies, compare kick and bang bang, both of those are same

in Geeta video background voice is defaming female according to this video girl are born to work at home and not for wrestling whereas in Sultan video Salman’s dialogue are praising girls and their strength that they are no less than men…
In Geeta video whole time she was preparing for wrestling and in Sultan video Anushka also did home related work..
So how you can say that it is frame to frame copy???
And if you mean that in both the videos they are preparing for wrestling and competition, then it is a wrestling movie and Anushka is playing a role of a wrestler so what else you expect from such character, don’t say that you are expecting Anushka to cook food and clean home in whole teaser.
Anushka character is not decided now, so you cannot do such comparison.. Shame on you didn’t expect such thing from you Indicine..

I guess Indicine dont expect all wrestlers to do the same exercises n seeing 2 female wrestlers wrestling with blokes is something highly inconceivable acc to them even though its commin practice these days across the world. I guess the next time they see a movie where the female is seen kissing a bloke they will shout RIPOFF after seeing Kajol aunty kiss King in Baghban 2…!

I have full faith in Aamir Khan..He is involved in the film making process of Dangal since 2015..he cannot go wrong and he won’t disappoint for sure..he always promises to bring something new and most importantly different,so I expect Dangal to be poles apart from sultan except for the fact that both the film will have wrestling as their background.. As for the teaser of sultan,it is good..but this video seems to be a bit better..I personally feel that since the makers of sultan are hurrying for Eid release, the creativity of the film might be compromised.. I hope I am proves wrong when the film hits the screens during Eid…Al the. best

And this raises a question that what if this remake artist would not have got the formula of Copy/Remake ?
