Sultan has collected Rs 36.54 crore on its opening day at the box office, as per official figures released by Yash Raj Films. The film was extraordinary at multiplexes, with multiplex chains recording the single highest day collections of all time, but it looks like the ‘Pre Eid’ factor has affected single-screen business, especially at muslim-dominated areas.
Sultan has recorded the 3rd highest opening day collections of all time, behind Happy New Year and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The first day collections are at around the same level as Dhoom 3, which released on a non-holiday.

As per early reports , Sultana has dropped significantly in few theatres.
Now I’m forced to think since it has got an extended weekend of five days (with multiple holidays) it will put big number on B.O.

Had YRF wanted, they could have grossly manipulated the records just like any other production houses with 9 or 8 Crores manipulations on the opening day alone.
But kudos to them, they stay as genuine as possible all the time.. With ETT, with Dhoom 3, with Sultan this time..
Anyway, the BO collections are as I predicted. I predicted 37-38 Crores on partial holiday. It collected similar. I am more than happy.
