Sultan has collected Rs 36.54 crore on its opening day at the box office, as per official figures released by Yash Raj Films. The film was extraordinary at multiplexes, with multiplex chains recording the single highest day collections of all time, but it looks like the ‘Pre Eid’ factor has affected single-screen business, especially at muslim-dominated areas.
Sultan has recorded the 3rd highest opening day collections of all time, behind Happy New Year and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The first day collections are at around the same level as Dhoom 3, which released on a non-holiday.

In hyderabad tickets are available on bookmyshow for almost all theaters for evening shows as well… tells much about the hyped news about advance booking.. Hyderabad was always stronghold of salman… Looks like this movie needs to be raped at boxoffice to make him understand how it feels to be raped…
And now it’s time for excuses ! It was a partial holiday, didn’t work to its full potential in muslim areas, etc… Accept it or not, 1st day means stardom and SRK is the biggest star in our country, period.

Seeing the tweets yeaterday the expectations were of 40 cr and above but still very good collections. Just more respect for Dhoom 3 collections keeping in view it was a non holiday release and still Sultan just managed to cross it.

I heard today it dropped by 20-30% on morning shows.. so word of mouth is also negative.. it will struggle now to survive and go prdp way.. better luck next time bhai..
