Sultan Friday (Day 3) Box Office Collections

Salman Khan’s Sultan is showing extraordinary trends at the domestic box office, as the film is set to record yet another 30 crore plus total on Friday. The film has collected around 32 crore on Friday (as per early estimates on Friday night), which was a working day across the country (even though there was Eid advantage at muslim-dominated centres).

Every circuit is performing, including Mumbai which has held on very strongly on Friday. Gujarat back back at opening day levels, after a small drop in business yesterday. West Bengal and Mysore were rock-solid, Nizam, Bihar and Delhi/UP were outstanding too. Moreover, the advance booking is excellent for the remaining two days in the weekend.

For probably the first time in a very long time, the trend suggests that it isn’t only the content that’s pulling the film through – but Salman Khan’s star power that’s sustaining it at such unbelievably high levels.

We don’t think the word-of-mouth is at Bajrangi Bhaijaan levels, yet people are coming out in big numbers to watch the film. The festive advantage is obviously there, but let’s not forget that it’s Salman who has consistently done films that appeals to his growing fanbase and made it an habit for people to watch his films during Eid.

Given the fact that a national holiday gives a film an advantage of 35 – 40%, the Friday collections of the film are at around 45 crore levels. In fact, every single day of the film so far would’ve been at 40 plus holiday levels, something that even Dhoom 3 hasn’t achieved. To add to it, Sultan hasn’t even released on regional (Tamil, Telugu) versions which can add about 3-5% to weekend collections.

Sultan has already become the 3rd highest grosser of the year in 3 days. The 3-day total of the film is about as much as the lifetime collections of a big film like Housefull 3. The highest grosser of the year – Airlift – will be surpassed in 4 days. And if Sultan holds up well Monday onwards, it could go ahead of ‘The Jungle Book’ in just about 7 days.

Moving ahead, there is Great Grand Masti coming next week, but that film, which is already struggling with piracy concerns (the main reason for preponing the film), will now struggle to get a decent single-screen release. Many single screen theatres, including fixed rentals, will be playing Sultan next week too.. so it pretty much gives Sultan 3 open weeks at the box office, until the release of Dishoom on July 29.

It’ll be interesting to see the trend of Sultan in the next couple of days. Will it sustain at such high levels on Saturday too? If it does, Sunday – the first full holiday for the film – could be yet another record-breaking day.

Sultan Box Office Collections

  • Wednesday (Day 1) – 36.54 crore
  • Thursday (Day 2) – 37.20 crore
  • Friday (Day 3) – 32 crore
  • Total Collections - 105.74 crore

Note: These are early estimates, the actuals will be updated on this page at 2PM on Saturday.

  • @Salman Fan I think you have forgotten that Dhoom 3 was first film to collect 30 Cr back to back in 3 consecutive days.

  • I think we all wanted that opening record but only with honesty n no manipulation- 105 inside 3 days is HUGE- will beat TJB by Sunday…!

  • Fools never understand that this is not trending.it’s first week and tomorrow will do 20+ and then 30+.then real test comes.the main advantage is EID weekend.

As this time salman got 2 EID.IN ONE EID,THE KING OF BOLLYWOOD with facing 3 films broken all records OPENING+DIMESTIC+WW.

but I can challenge you this loser bhojpuri lallu not only couldn’t broken the OPENING but also will definitely will fail to beat his own bb.

As far as I can see there is huge decline, still there are EID benefits are there through out weekend.

And recordless khan will remain recordless as always.

One sacrifiece of KING KHAN due to YRF/ADIJI led this 2010 reborn decade struggler to breathe in this industry.KING SRK is really generous with GOLDEN HEART,even though HE is going through controversy and problems still HE IS helping others who are actually want bad about HIM.

If RAEES would have released not only IT would have thrash phultan like a puny rat but also would have created so many records in a clash of big holidays.

But OUR EMOTIONAL FOOL MEGASTAR gave up all with emotions with out caring HIS FANS.

salman will run definitely upto taht time until KING SRK will return to A BIG HOLIDAY RELEASE,after that salman will be over.

    @tiger-the real chuha,

    FAN—-85CR
    veer—-40cr disaster

KAHAN KING OF BOLLYWOOD (KING SRK) aur Kahan changu teli(bhabi),rofl.

  • I watched Great Grand Masti on 5th July download it from torrent it was censor copy with master print this movie is crap even Grand Masti was better
Indicine team ? When udta punjab was leaked so that time udta punjab being controversial this time Great Grand Masti a big franchise movie has leaked but I don’t saw any article about it I just want to know the reason behind leakage of Great Grand Masti ?

  • @sss I replied to you on this following article.

Sultan records 7th highest single day collections

  • Lol, paid content. Would have 40 crore, lol, as if anyone cares about would have.

Any comment telling the truth is not approved.

  • Power of
Jagarnath Puja Eid on 6 July
    Eid on 7 July
    Post Eid on 8 July

    Over all
    POWER OF EDX holidays

  • It’s insane to say the least..
#SultanMania is gripping the nation. However, agree with Indicine WOM is mixed to positive.
    Race is on.

  • AMAZING ! 32cr on non-holiday is something which our haklu maharaj was never ever going to achieved untill his retirement !! I mean crossing 30cr for 3 consecutive days isn’t a Joke….

BHAI’s consecutive 3rd film to do 100cr in 3 days (most)
BHAI’s consecutive 10th film to cross 100cr (most)
    and new addition,
BHAI was the only one whose SULTAN crossed 30cr mark for 3 consecutive days

this shows the dominance and MEGASTARDOM of MEGASTAR BHAI and then some 2 rs ghatiya fan base bark on that manipulative fig. of mahacrap crappie old year. But Don’t worry the same crappie old year’s actual lifetime(176cr) is going to trashed by SULTAN within 7 or 8 days !!!!

OTHERS MAKES OR BREAKES RECORDS, BUT BHAI NOT ONLY BREAKES RECORDS BUT CREATE HISTORY WHICH OTHER ONLY THINKS TO BREAK !!!!

  • I don’t know for what I should more happy. Sultan collecting 30 crores for 3 consecutive days or Fasal not commenting on Indicine for 1 month? :-D

  • I hope that film might do 200 crore in its extended week. Given the fact if film do 30 crore plus on saturday and sunday..then sky will be the limit. This will give film the shot at 300 crore. I badly want 300 crore with this one re SULTAN.

  • Mr. Satyajit fan,
Open ur eyes and see…ur so called sultan loltan not able to cross HNY single day record and u r saying sallu is no.1 star on what basis,?
BTW tell ur sultan to give a little expressions in front of the camera and then c what happens

  • today anything above 25 cr will be
    good sign for sultan..lifetime 240/250cr
    blockbuster

  • As per BOI,three day collection is 107CR… Sultan rock solid..and I bet today and tomorrow it will be more than 30cr too..

  • Very upset news for salman even ticket rate hike screen counts hike but still failed to beat hny in Eid market & sorry don’t compare wid fan bcz that’s only applicable with great actors acting skills

  • As a salman fan i want to say srk is also a big star n he need one good film but one thing is clear he is little star in front of MEGASTAR

  • @mekanik:

Hahaha…comparing duniya sabse bada superstar’s latest content rich holiday release billu2 collections with Bhai’s 6 years old non holiday release Veer’s collections!

Btw, according to the same Loongiwala logic Veer collected 100 times more than YLJK. What about that???

  • This is a tight SLAP on the faces of Sona Mohaapatra, Raja Sen and many many other who bashed Salman for a silly conterversy.

  • 10 films in 100 crore club only salman khan can do this amazing thing. Rated u 100% sultan khan
