Sultan was phenomenal on Day 2 at the box office and if our ‘early estimates’ are right, the film should cross the 36-37 crore mark today. The second day was strong because of single-screens business, which were performing at a very high level throughout the day.
Multiplex business dropped in the morning, but picked up noon onwards. The film was recording very high occupancy after 3-4PM.
Muslim-dominated areas were super strong and circuits that weren’t running to record levels yesterday were performing today. Gujarat multiplexes didn’t show much growth, it could be the language that is pulling back the film there.
Nizam was record-breaking, Mumbai circuit picked up, some centres in East Punjab were better than yesterday (even though Wednesday was record-breaking). The core Hindi belt was performing to peak capacity. Delhi/UP was outstanding. Mysore circuit was down a bit, but that was expected after a big first day.

Overall, Sultan has collected around 74 crore in 2 days at the box office. The film is already the 4th highest grosser of the year after Airlift, Housefull 3 and FAN. It’ll be the 3rd highest grosser tomorrow and also cross the 100 crore mark in 3 days.
The Eid advantage will continue tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday could also be huge, but that’s usually the time when the word-of-mouth clearly begins to take over. The lifetime business of the film will depend on the family audience, a clear upward trend on Sunday will mean the film is certain to be a huge grosser.
Friday and Saturday will also be crucial, because both are working days – unlike the first two (Wednesday and Thursday) which were partial holidays.

Sultan … Actor clumsy, unsportsmanlike, the elderly, the moments feel sorry for him for trying to look young, beautiful and cool … She enlivened the film, but in the whole miserable movies, watch and worry that it will be even worse and worse ..

Sultan has had another huge day which should come out in the 35 crore nett range. It is slightly harder to judge than normal weeks as different circuits behave very differently due to the period so early collections have a bit more margin for error but what is clear is that there is not that drop that happens on the day after Eid. Also there is no precedence with Eid falling like it has.
Normally its around 15-20% fall but as the national Eid holiday fell on the last day of Ramazan which meant the film could get the full effect of the holiday so this has bennefited the film on day two and the fall will be minimal if there is one when final collections come tomorrow.
The first day record breaking circuits of East Punjab and Mysore are looking to drop 15% while other circuits will show minimal drops while Delhi / UP and Nizam / Andhra are looking at gains. If Gujarat / Saurashtra can gain the figure can get very close to the opening day figure. Basically the film was looking at a national holiday and a partial holiday in the first two days but with Eid coming late it has meant two partial holidays.
The target now for the film is the highest weekend in the history of Hindi cinema which at the moment is with Bajrangi Bhaijaan at 101.42 crore nett and another 30 crore nett plus day on Friday will take it there.

the big question is that can it cross 150 cr in five day weekend.bcoz great grand masti has preponed to 15th july.so lyftime collection will be 20 cr less.if sultan lifetime is 260 cr then it should be 280 cr .anyway another blockbuster for sports genre which is very tough for bo?lywod.

Don’t remember any movie except BB and D3 achieving the same.
Coming back to the movie my evaluation is better than PRDP but not in the league of BB.

Widest screens, highest buzz, star casts big,higher ticket price, lucrative release period but still just 3-4 crs more than movies like Chennai express and Singham returns couple of years back. Forget holiday or non if Aamir can deliver 36 on Non holiday Ajay 32 on non Edx. Truth is Sultan was overhyped badly.
