After historic all-time blockbusters like PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan has officially become the 3rd film to cross the 300 crore mark in India. The film had a spectacular run, which included a record-breaking 5-day Eid weekend during which the film collected Rs 180.36 crore at the domestic box office.
Sultan is Salman Khan’s second 300 crore grosser and fourth 200 crore grosser (all back-to-back releases), both records are the highest in the industry.
Sultan is also Yash Raj Films’ highest grosser to date, beating the previous record of Dhoom 3 – which is a phenomenal achievement in itself because Dhoom is the biggest franchise in the industry and the film got 3 open weeks at the box office.
The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film has also destroyed the record of the previous highest grosser of the year – Airlift (129 crore) – by a mind-boggling margin of Rs 171 crore. In other words, Sultan has collected nearly 2.5 more than the previous highest Hindi grosser.
With 5 months remaining, Sultan will be the film to beat this year.

SRK in double role with a partial holiday release could not cross 100 crs and they expected him to beat PK with Sultan clash. This is a sign of mental imbalance after back to back blows for them.
