After historic all-time blockbusters like PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan has officially become the 3rd film to cross the 300 crore mark in India. The film had a spectacular run, which included a record-breaking 5-day Eid weekend during which the film collected Rs 180.36 crore at the domestic box office.
Sultan is Salman Khan’s second 300 crore grosser and fourth 200 crore grosser (all back-to-back releases), both records are the highest in the industry.
Sultan is also Yash Raj Films’ highest grosser to date, beating the previous record of Dhoom 3 – which is a phenomenal achievement in itself because Dhoom is the biggest franchise in the industry and the film got 3 open weeks at the box office.
The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film has also destroyed the record of the previous highest grosser of the year – Airlift (129 crore) – by a mind-boggling margin of Rs 171 crore. In other words, Sultan has collected nearly 2.5 more than the previous highest Hindi grosser.
With 5 months remaining, Sultan will be the film to beat this year.

Now I can recall that immature article from Indicine published a few days ago regarding YRFs strategy to bar sultan’s officials collection to be 300 crore, so that Salman doesn’t get paid the extra share for making it to 300. Indicine never leaves an opportunity to post those bakwas Salman news rather than bringing more important news.

Sultan is all time favorite movie now.it is Salman khan ‘s best performance till date.
Whenever I watched Chakde India I used to think that Salman has done correct thing by rejecting CDI and SRK did that movie brilliantly.
After watching Sultan , I can say that Salman would have done justice to that role in his own way.
He displayed a great act in Sultan.
From an immature young cable Wala guy to hardworking wrestler to arrogant ghamandi wrestler to a guy who loses his family to a guy who earns respect in the ring in 40’s.
The transformations of his character and the way he acted makes it a best role of Salman in his career.
I would rate it better than bajrangi as bajrangi required him to be only innocent while sultan showed different shades.
