Salman Khan’s Sultan has crossed the 200 crore mark early-evening today. The film has gone past the lifetime collections of films like 3 Idiots and Happy New Year. The 7-day collections of the film will also be quite close to the Hindi version business of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, as Sultan has remained rock-steady on Tuesday.
Sultan is also the first film in the history of the Hindi film industry to cross 200 crore in its first week. Even after adjusting for inflation, no film would’ve crossed 200 crore net by the end of Week 1, making Sultan the fastest money-spinner of all time.
The film is already the 8th highest grosser and should eventually beat Dhoom 3 to become the 3rd highest grosser ever. The 300 crore mark and surpassing Bajrangi Bhaijaan are possibilities, depending on the kind of growth the film manages to show on Saturday and Sunday.
The industry surely has come a very long way from the time when 3 Idiots became the first Hindi film to cross the 200 crore mark – a record was broken nearly 4 nearly after its release by Chennai Express.
Note to our readers: There won’t be a late-night update or early estimate today as the hold is normal. We request you not to wait for a update.

Look at 3idiots guys it came in 2009 at that time there was low ticket prices and lesser screens and it still managed 202crores and giving tough competitions to today’s 2016 releases also,so think about that….. Leave salman, srk
Only one super duper megastar salman bhai doesn’t kiss or intimate onscreen for his films success.. Like srk does(jthj)(mayamemsaab)..wat a shame for srgay….. Am also a srk fan but wen he kissed in jthj for its success opposite sos (2012) i feel dat a super star, baadshah of Bollywood, king khan shahrukh need to kiss or intimate for his films success wat a shame.. another side one man army salman’s name only enough for films success wat a megastar so I left srk am not a srk fan anymore..and I suggest to leave srk..
