Sultan continued its phenomenal run on its 3rd day at the box office. The film has collected Rs 31.5 crore on Friday, to take its first weekend total to Rs 105.34 crore net. It’s one of the highest first weekend (3 days) totals of all time.
Sultan is also Salman Khan’s 10th consecutive 100 crore grosser, something that no other actor has achieved so far (the second best is Shah Rukh Khan with 6 consecutive 100 crore films).

For Sultan, every circuit across India was performing at a very high level on Friday and that should continue on Saturday and Sunday too – because the advance booking is excellent.
The real test for Sultan will come on Monday. If the film holds above the 15 crore mark, then it’ll go on to be one of the biggest grossers of all time. The second weekend will also be crucial. The release of Great Grand Masti is unlikely to make any impact on Sultan, as long as the weekday (Monday – Thursday) trend is good.
Sultan has become the 3rd highest grosser of the year (not including the Hollywood film ‘The Jungle Book’). It has already beaten films like Kapoor & Sons, Baaghi, Neerja and FAN in less than 3 days. On Saturday morning, the film has surpassed Housefull 3, to become the 2nd highest grosser. It should eventually manage to beat Airlift by the end of the day today.

Yeah, this one is impressive.
After two consecutive 30cr+ days, it’s difficult for any movie to sustain so impressively and put 30cr+ on cards.
So, in three days, first time I felt that buzz is ‘unprecedented’ though real test will begin on Monday as people are still there is festive mood and this spree will continue till Sunday.
At the same time, this too is the matter of fact that despite of getting rave reviews, average to good WOM and two holidays (or say ‘partial’ holidays for that matter) in first 3 days, it failed to beat the weekend collections of HNY and D3 though later two started facing negativities from second day itself.
