The first shooting schedule of Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab, which lead actor Shahid Kapoor called his ‘scariest’ film, has begun.
Shahid tweeted “UDTA PUNJAB takes off . This ones special . Wish us luck guys . It’s a tough tough film . We need your love”
He had earlier tweeted “Scariest part I have played yet have no clue how I’m going to get it right. Wish me luck guys”

Written by Abhishek Chaubey and Sudip Sharma, Udta Punjab also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. While Kareena has clarified that she doesn’t have any scene with Shahid, this would be their first film together after ‘Jab We Met’.

Udta Punjab is looking like an interesting movie . Abhishek Chaubey has directed Ishqiya and Dedh Ishqiya . I think Udta Punjab is based on the Drug Mafia in Punjab which should be a brilliant concept because a lot of youngsters are taking drugs which is really not good for our country . I heard that Shahid recommended Kareena for this movie . I think it should be a good script . That is the reason Kareena has agreed to do a movie with Shahid despite their past . @ Indicine I also heard Fawad Khan (Khoobsurat fame) also has been approached for Udta Punjab . @ Indicine I posted a question and i hope you give an interesting reply as soon as possible . @saksham: Dude, ayushmaan khurana was cast first opposite Kareena for this film, but unfortunately #kareena refused to star opposite Ayushmaan, then the director approached Fawad Khan opposite Kareena, then again he was replaced with the #punjabiguy @Daljit Dosanjh, who, I believe is the perfect one for this role (since it’s a film based in Punjab and this guy has a huge popularity in North India). Movie looks solid. Hope you follow me! :)

Even though they don’t have a single scene together but it is’nt possible to make an entire film,promoting it without talking to each other!!
