After trouncing the competition (Mohenjo Daro) during the ‘Independence Day’ weekend this year, Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey were quick to announce their next film ‘Crack’ for the same weekend next year.
The announcement came just days after there were strong reports within the industry, that Imtiaz Ali and Shah Rukh Khan were eyeing the ‘freedom weekend’ to release their next film, which has already gone on floors in Prague.

It’s a well known fact that Shah Rukh likes to announce the release dates of his film, only after it goes on floors. By sticking to this strategy the superstar has missed out on all the big dates.
While Eid is no longer an option for any actor other than Salman Khan, announcing films early for weekends like Diwali, Post IPL, Independence Day etc, can make the competition think twice before announcing their own film.
With the unexpected announcement of ‘Crack’ coming early, the makers of Imtiaz Ali’s film are now in two minds. If they go ahead and announce the film for the same date, it could set up yet another big clash, which puts the weaker film (even if it isn’t a bad film) at a much bigger risk.
There are other factors too – Akshay Kumar is on a career-high after two major multiplex hits in 2016. Neeraj Pandey himself has a big film like ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, if that film works, it would make ‘Crack’ bigger.
There are also reports that the makers are considering the Dusshera weekend, which has plenty of holidays, but the concern will be ‘Pre-Diwali’ period that will curtail the box office prospects of the film in the long run.
If the clash happens, it’ll not just be SRK vs Akshay, it’ll also be a clash between two acclaimed directors – Imtiaz Ali (Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Rockstar, Tamasha) and Neeraj Pandey (Special 26, Baby). Vote and tell us who your favourite director is.

Ahah relax Akshay fans ! Let me remind you that despite negativity, clash and poor film, Dilwale earned 150 cr while your wanna-be superstar highest grosser is 130 cr… Don’t dare to compare a star with the global King.
Flops happen is a career, Akshay knows it very well as he had a major one last year with Brothers. So stop dreaming, FAN’s failure doesn’t mean that SRK is over, far from it ! He’ll bounce back even stronger and if the clash with Akshay happen, then pray God to avoid a Jaan-e-mann 2 scenario !!
And btw, Imtiaz ali may not be a commercial director, but neither is Neeraj Pandey, even with extraordinary reviews and WOM, neither Special 26 nor Baby were clean hits.
Are you kidding, guys? SRK > Akshay + Neeraj + whole team. It is fact that If raees doing well at BO, then Crack will postpone for sure. SRK need only one blockbuster then he will defeat current top actor salman too. SRK is the only actor who can defeat any actors ( current salman) while so called superstar akshay cannot defeat salman or srk or aamir even in his prime time. Akshay is successful star for mid-budget film. No producer want to invest 100cr plus in his movies because his highest grosser is just 130cr+. He is successful star because his movies budgets are less than 50-60cr. In this budget, dark-offbeat movie that too without songs & without heroine film “FAN” was also a semi-hit if not clean hit.

You fool, Bollywood is a male dominated industry (barring few exceptions) , hence collections of a movie starring top stars in the industry (Khans/Hrithik/Ajay/Akshay) mainly depend upon their presence and other subsidiary factors e.g. a top heroine, chartbuster music etc just augment the collections till an extent.
Now, your above analogy only proves that your mental condition is not stable and you can go till any extent to bring SRK down.
But if you have to rely and quote absurd logic, then you can even prove that ‘1’ is bigger than ‘2’, Sun rises in west and non-actor doesn’t have any ‘chemical imbalance’ but he voluntarily opted to remain single in so many years.

I must to confess that now is the lowest point of SRK’s career. If raees fail at BO, then it will be too hard for him to come back. But, if raees rule at bo then no one cannot stop him once again. CRACK will be automatically postpone to another dsate, for that raees should do at lest 200+ cr in domestic.

Imtiaz had just one good movie in JWM. Rest of his movies are regular rom coms tragedy kinda movies. Socha na tha was sweet and simple. But Neeraj Pandey have some very good movies under his belt. A Wednesday and Baby are one of the best thrillers in Hindi Cinema though Special 26 was not very Special. I would say the clash will be even until the trailer and promotions comes into the picture and generate the pre-release buzz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
