Aamir Khan has postponed the theatrical release of ‘Secret Superstar’ from August 4 to the Diwali weekend – setting up a clash with Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar’s Robot 2.0.
The decision comes two weeks after Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ was postponed from June 2nd to August 11th, making it two major releases a week after a word-of-mouth dependent film like ‘Secret Superstar’.
It’s a sensible business decision as ‘Secret Superstar’ isn’t a commercial film featuring Aamir Khan in the lead. The superstar only has a cameo and the film needed time to grow. During a major festive weekend like Diwali, there should be enough space for a film like ‘Secret Superstar’ and the more commercial ‘Robot 2.0’.
This is what we had predicted in last week’s QnA, when a reader asked about Secret Superstar releasing a week before two major films “We think Aamir will push Secret Superstar to a different date. He is one of the best minds in film business and he’ll probably know it’s a small word-of-mouth film. It needs two open weeks to grow and perform at the box office. If it comes a week before the two major films, it may not find too many takers in Week 2 unless it turns out to be an exceptional film. Even assuming it’s an outstanding film, it’ll still lose out on business”
SRK fans are funniest. They expect GGM to thrash Sultan and Secret Superstar (Not an Aamir movie) to beat Robot 2.0. Not only that their own idol could not face Salman on Eid 2016 and they still dreaming other actors (like Ranbir) to clash with TZH and beat Salman !!!!!!! Ghor Kalyug !!!!!!!!!!! Lol

@Sunny-akkiholic these thing doesn’t matter, even Hrithik want to play Vivek’s character in K3 but that doesn’t mean K3 was vivek starrer. Regarding 2.0 it is Rajni starrer. The clash is between Rajni vs Aamir. And I know how a big idiot you are, when Dangal became all time grosser Aamir was biggest star of current time for you, now he is chota superstar. @Rajesh Kulkarni first see how your fellow mate talking about Aamir despite the fact that SS is small film and won’t impact even a bit to 2.0. For Canadian star what I can do even in wiki Akki nationality is Canadian. Its a truth but I have no bad feeling for akki but during fan wars you need to do tit for tat.

@Rajesh Kulkarni there is nothing bad to calling him Canadian, he has accepted the citizenship of there, why the hell your butt burning when some one calling him Canadian.
Regarding his work for soldiers or anything, It is great and he is doing the same from past some years. There is nothing bad to calling him Canadian, He is doing good for Indians is appreciated. He is already gotten Padam Shri for his contribution for Indian cinema way back in 2010. So National award doesn’t make any difference.

Aamir is there in cameo but still Akki fans taking this clash on their heart. Rajni fans ko to fark hi nahi pad raha. Even Aamir releasing movie after consulting with Rajni (Mind it from Rajni not Akshay).
