Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is in a different league altogether when it comes to recording the ‘highest single days’ in the industry. 7 out of the Top 10 Highest single days now belong to a Salman Khan starrer, with 4 days of his latest release ‘Sultan’ making it to the Top 10.
The ’30 crore single day’ is a elite club only meant for the biggest superstars in the industry. Films of only 5 actors has managed to collect 30 crore or more on a single day. They are:
- Salman Khan (11 times)
- Shah Rukh Khan (5 times)
- Aamir Khan (5 times)
- Hrithik Roshan (once)
- Ajay Devgn (once)
Interestingly, no other actor, apart from those mentioned above, has even crossed the 25 crore mark on a single day. With Salman films crossing the 30 crore mark 11 times, the actor is just one short of all other actors combined (12).
The next film to watch out for will be Aamir Khan’s Dangal, releasing this Christmas.

Well I wonder what is the logic of Akshay bhakts like Sunny Akkiholic and others when they say Akshay is the one who saves the industry with 4-5 releases an year and they were going gaga over the Forbes’ article where Akshay is one of the top earning celebrity in the world.

But Akshay has nothing to worry…he might have charged 40-45 cr per movie and he will be happy having pocketed a handsome sum of around 170 cr churning out these 4 movies…and obviously he will top the Forbes’ list coz he earned a lot of money…but what about the producers of these movies….well..God save them!

Most of the Irfan Khan & Manoj Bajpayee movies have higher IMDb ratings than most of the Salman/SRK movies. Does it mean their movies will be remembered in future not Salman/srk movies??? Even after 40years/50 years whole day we are talking about Box office performance of Amitji/Rajesh khanna movies. But hardly anybody talk about highly critically acclaimed movies of Naseeruddin Shah, Amol palekar etc. Because end of the day it’s box office performance which matter the most.
You are from Tamilnadu and very well aware the fact that most of Kamal hasan movies are always considered classics while most of the Rajnikanth movies are just for entertainment, nothing new to offers. Who is stopping Akshay to not release his movies on EDX? Why didn’t he tell Dharma to release his high budget movie Brothers during EDX so that atleast the movie might have reached safe zone and the producer was spared of disaster returns?
The writing on the wall is clear mate…he is just concerned about his fees from the movie…whether the movie is marketed well or not, whether the producer is in safe zone or not…are not his areas of interest…
