Salman Khan, the most bankable star in the industry today, started his career with Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyaar Kiya which remains one of the biggest hits of his career. Barjatya was also instrumental in giving Salman a film like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian Cinema.
Some of his other hits in the 90s are Baaghi, Saajan, Karan Arjun, Jeet, Judwaa, Biwi No 1, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
It was after Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1999 that Salman’s career began to nose-dive. In the next 5 years (2000 – 2004), Khan had only two hits – Baghban (special appearance) and Mujshe Shaadi Karogi (multi-starrer). Tere Naam and Garv did reasonably good business.
Between 2005 and 2009, Salman had a few massively successful films like Partner and No Entry, but most of his films like Jaan-e-mann, Baabul, Salaam-e-Ishq, Yuvvraaj, Marigold – just to name a few – sank without a trace at the box office.
The biggest turning point in Salman’s career came when Prabhu Deva’s Wanted (2009) bought back the single-screen audience to theatres. Post the success of Wanted, Salman began to take his career more seriously, stopped doing films as favours to some of his friends in the industry and signed films that targeted both the single-screen and multiplex audience.
Dabangg released in 2010 and went on to break all possible box office records – the opening day, weekend and first week record of 3 Idiots. Ready was the biggest non-holiday grosser of all time. Bodyguard surpassed all records set by Dabangg only a year ago and Ek Tha Tiger almost joined the 200 crore club.
As things stand today, Salman Khan holds several records and is the undisputed ‘king’ of the domestic box office.
- Most 100 crore grossers (5 films)
- Most back-to-back blockbusters (5 films)
- Highest single day collections (Ek Tha Tiger 32.92 cr)
- Highest opening day collections (Ek Tha Tiger 32.92 cr)
- Highest first week collections (Ek Tha Tiger 137.15 cr)
- Most 150 crore grossers (2 films)

It doesn’t really matter much to me who’s the king of bollywood. I enjoy watching all three; Salman, Shahrukh and Amir equally. So many years have gone and still up there among the best, if not the best three khans. Over three decades, and still going strong. Not the best dancer, not the best acting but its really mesmerizing and pleasing when I watch them in movies. True entertainer..true stars of bollywood…3khans.
thank you for the wonderful movies…and all the very best for eternity. Love and respect..3 khans

100 PERCENT OF OUR PEOPLE ADMIRE SALMAN khan and all are huge fan of his movies and personality.
Salman deserve to be the king of bollywood and heart of gold.
Long live.
Salman Khan the real hero of bollywood …
he was the first to give biggest hit in the 90’s … thanks to salman khan..
then now all his movies are blockbuster ..
7 back to back century ,
his movie releases only in hindi then also he gets such massive collection in the boxoffice … if his movies releases in 4 languages Hindi, English, Tamil & Telugu then his movies collection will be equal to Hollywood movies ..
other bollywood stars like srk , aamir, krithik, akshay mostly release there movie in multy languages and so they fare in collection …..lols
no doubt salman khan is the biggest fan following star…
he make very nice films & give chanang to srk & aamir. he make 71 films & total business of 71 films is 2114 crores

Salman 1 All timeBlockbuster Is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai..Is Srk Movie And He Play A Supporting Role..That’s He Gave 5 Blockbuster Movie..SRK Is Much Better Than Sallu and Amir
This list is not give very correct success ratio of 45% bcoz this list includes his guest appearance & like that. Actually the success ratio is remaining around 30% maximum.
If any fan shouted or do like crazy fans activities on my comment so, warning to that fan first create the original list & keep counting u get the results around 30%…ok…
& plz don’t take this list or my comment to judge salman bcoz this list belong to salman’s personal business by u & me. it not judge the salman’s personality or talent or all like that.
If salman’s ratio become 10% only then, it’s not thing that u create any type violence. Bcoz salman entertain u & successful to entertain u so, say thanks to salman but also the success ratio is all bcoz ever we+salman+business. the ratio says that Salman successful to entertained 45% people but failed to entertain 55% people.
So, if u believes ur one of these 45% then say thanks to salman & if ur part of these 55% then all u people u have rights to present ur comments.
Thanks for ur time..!
salman khan is a king of bollywood no any one to beat salman khan
