Salman Khan, the most bankable star in the industry today, started his career with Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyaar Kiya which remains one of the biggest hits of his career. Barjatya was also instrumental in giving Salman a film like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian Cinema.
Some of his other hits in the 90s are Baaghi, Saajan, Karan Arjun, Jeet, Judwaa, Biwi No 1, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
It was after Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1999 that Salman’s career began to nose-dive. In the next 5 years (2000 – 2004), Khan had only two hits – Baghban (special appearance) and Mujshe Shaadi Karogi (multi-starrer). Tere Naam and Garv did reasonably good business.
Between 2005 and 2009, Salman had a few massively successful films like Partner and No Entry, but most of his films like Jaan-e-mann, Baabul, Salaam-e-Ishq, Yuvvraaj, Marigold – just to name a few – sank without a trace at the box office.
The biggest turning point in Salman’s career came when Prabhu Deva’s Wanted (2009) bought back the single-screen audience to theatres. Post the success of Wanted, Salman began to take his career more seriously, stopped doing films as favours to some of his friends in the industry and signed films that targeted both the single-screen and multiplex audience.
Dabangg released in 2010 and went on to break all possible box office records – the opening day, weekend and first week record of 3 Idiots. Ready was the biggest non-holiday grosser of all time. Bodyguard surpassed all records set by Dabangg only a year ago and Ek Tha Tiger almost joined the 200 crore club.
As things stand today, Salman Khan holds several records and is the undisputed ‘king’ of the domestic box office.
- Most 100 crore grossers (5 films)
- Most back-to-back blockbusters (5 films)
- Highest single day collections (Ek Tha Tiger 32.92 cr)
- Highest opening day collections (Ek Tha Tiger 32.92 cr)
- Highest first week collections (Ek Tha Tiger 137.15 cr)
- Most 150 crore grossers (2 films)

Biggest megastar ever produced in Indian cinema #SALMAN_KHAN
Flop hero salma,srk u r great
Veer, Garv are flops and hello, lucky are disasters
Salman is best……
sawariya, biwi ho to aisi, heroes etc yeh salman ki movies nahi hai guest appearance.
kuch kuch hota hai is not movie of salman khan this is movie of Shah Rukh khan and llz remove from thase list
salman take only cameo in KKHH
SO PLZ Remove from ghase list
Sir acter
PLZ recount salman has 6 All time blockbusters as said on your list but according to the bit at the bottom of the list it says 5 All time blockbusters.
Also salman is in the movie heroes for only 2 minutes, he’s only in 1 song for hello and does a 5-10 minute cameo in sawariya. Therefore its unfair to add these movies as salman’s movies please remove them
Also on your site you yourself said Ek that Tiger and kick were all time blockbusters
Also Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, jaaneman, kyon ki and khomoshi were below average not flop. Please change these verdicts and redo the success ratio calculations.

He’s the most decent guy onscreen who hasn’t done even one intimate scene in his movies all these years and he also hates doing it. Indian films are made to entertain Indians. His flops are also critically acclaimed. He can act insrk movies but SRK CANT act in SK movies
If you say he’s not versatile then I’ll tell you the genres he’s acted in
Romance+family types- MPK hahk hum saath saath hain, kkhh, pyar kiya to darna kya, hum dil de chuke sanam
Comedy- andaz apna apna
Tragedy- tere naam, kyon ki
Action-Dabangg 1 & 2 ett kick (partial villain) wanted
Sports movies- Sultan
Bajarangi bhaijaan- a special movie
Tubelight- another good movie
Apart from horror he’s acted in all genres of movie. Whereas the great SRK has acted in a few different roles like
Darr, anjaam almost the same, chak de India, my name is khan, Swadesh, kkhh (loosely based on anand)
Rest all romantic movies. You call him “versatile” many movies of his are overrated.
All movie good
Bhut khub
i am big fan
Salman bhaijaan
Love you salman bhaijaan
I would not normally leave a comment about an Indian Movie (I am an American, not Indian at all) but I have to say something about Jaanam Samjha Karo. Honestly, although the film editing was terrible, this movie, after watching it 22 years later after it came out, and only listening to the music in the 90’s and early 2000s (and now again), was excellent. I have to say that this movie is a block buster. Salmon dances very well in this movie, as does Urmila. You have to watch this movie again knowing the editing sucks but it is a great, great Indian Movie: A classic. It needs to be reevaluated. It is actually funny that the editing sucks. It adds to the effect that this is a romance-comedy. Salmon deserves more credit here. IT WAS NOT A FLOP. So does Urmila. This movie is in league with A Ab Laut Chalen. I found my old tape in a box from 20 years ago. It was like a revelation. I had to order the DVD and a new CD again. WATCH THIS FILM AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC. AMAZING. WOW WOW WOW MAN AMAZING. KYAA HAPPENING?
IDIOTS KURBAN IS A HIT,LOVE IS AVERAGE,TERE NAAM IS A SEMI-HIT,CHORI CHORI CHUPKE CHUPKE IS SEMI-HIT BAGHABN IS A SUPERHIT AND YOU RIGHT AVERAGE AND FLOP ??
Janam SAMUHA KARO IS AVERAGE AND HUM SAATH SAATH IS A BLOCKBUSTER & HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM IS A BLOCKBUSTER YOU ONLY RIGHT HIT YOU ARE A HATER OF SALMAN KHAN
JAB PYAR KISISE SE HOTA HAI DECLARED BOC OFFICE HIT
Dulhan hum le jayenge declared a hit
40\ MOVIES ARE WRONV WRITTEN BY INDICINE
Akshay sharukh amir hritik Ajay n every star always chooses big director n producers to increase their status n success
But don’t forget that only Salman khan dare to do films with sinking directors n producers n co stars also n this the magic of Salman that still he earn success with a huge margin
Salman never cares story but story cares Salman
Early in 90s Hit, super hit, ATBB were given to those film which was good scripted.
But since last decade, it’s all about bussinees. If movie did crossed 100 cr, then no mater how weak scripetd was….
He is the one and only actor give 3 disasters movies. Don’t try to call him King when King is still alive.
Up Up King Khan
SRK is the only king of bollywood and no one can withstand him not even salman
All time blockbhsters means What..?? Salman has 5 ? then SRK and aamir ka ussey jada hona chahiye… Kya conspiracy h bhai… Technically and statisticaly please make me understood…. ?
best movie Bajrangi bhaijaan
HE RULES OVER EVERYONE NOW AND THAT IS WHAT MATTERS,TIGER 3 IS COMING TO BREAK ALL RECORDS THIS TIME
