Rangoon, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, went on floors yesterday at the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead.
Rangoon is said to be a vintage love story set in the backdrop of the Second World War that took place in the early 1940s.
Both Shahid and Saif have done extremely well under Vishal’s direction, giving their career best performances in movies like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Haider’.
Interestingly, Kareena’s ex-boyfriend (Shahid) and husband (Saif) are sharing screen space for the very first time. Not much is known about Saif’s role but it is being said that Shahid will play an Army officer and Kangana will play an actress from the 1940s.
The film is scheduled to end its shoot by March next year and the release date could fall in the second half of 2016. There are reports that Rangoon will be shot in quite a few exotic locations. The team is seeking permission to shoot a few scenes at the Burma border.
Meanwhile, the producer of the film, Sajid Nadiadwala also celebrated his wedding anniversary with a small cake cutting ceremony on the sets of the film. This is not the first time the producer began a film on his anniversary. The first scene of Salman Khan’s KICK was also shot on the same day in 2013.

It’s only we, who are paying our valuable time, attention n money.
10 years after, ppl will still love to watch good films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan without thinking how much money it made.
Also, Indicine has mentioned many times that these collections posted by sites by BOI.com n others are just ROUGH ESTIMATES, which cannot be taken seriously, its just a yardstick to measure success of a movie.
