Akshay Kumar’s Rustom has recorded the 4th highest opening day of 2016, behind films like FAN and Housefull 3. Salman Khan’s Sultan, of course, tops the list by a country mile and cannot be compared to any other film that has released in 2016.
Rustom has held strongly on Saturday too and the collections are set to grow towards the end of the day. If the film holds up, it could take advantage of the extended 4-day weekend at the box office.
Akshay Kumar now has 3 films in the Top 5, which includes Airlift and Housefull 3. In terms of occupancy, it’s the best opening for an Akshay Kumar film since Rowdy Rathore in 2012.
It’s also only the second Hindi film this year that can be categorised under ‘excellent’ because a total of 14.11 crore is outstanding given the fact that it was competing against a big film like ‘Mohenjo Daro’.

Mohenjo daro is Uttar crap, no doubt but Rustam also no less. Rustam is gets benefits due to clash buzz and trailer. But I find trailer just average. It is benefited due to poor trailer of mohenjo daro. Same will be in case of boxoffice collection. Others wise it is just strictly average flick.

Akshay doesn’t need big banner, big actress, big director, nor EDX or reserve himself for 6months. All he needs is his confidence and conviction. Told you @indicine a few months ago that no one can Size Akshay’s stardom even his fans cant understand him that well. The man is writing a different rule book
Reviews of both movies are not good. Mohenjo daro reviews is disastrous and Rustam is mixed. Movies like Rustam and mohenjo daro should have been at list average rating of 3.5*. Both gets poor rating of 2. 7* and 2. 3* on average. Because both are nech films not masala movie. So, I will not watch both movies.
My friend told me that Rustam is very boring movie. So I will not watch it. For mohenjo daro I will not even think to watch.

Wom of Rustam is mixed so it will recover it 65 cr budget due to good opening but it will be tough for mohenjo daro to revover it’s 120 cr huge budget with negative wom.
