Akshay Kumar’s Rustom has recorded the 4th highest opening day of 2016, behind films like FAN and Housefull 3. Salman Khan’s Sultan, of course, tops the list by a country mile and cannot be compared to any other film that has released in 2016.
Rustom has held strongly on Saturday too and the collections are set to grow towards the end of the day. If the film holds up, it could take advantage of the extended 4-day weekend at the box office.
Akshay Kumar now has 3 films in the Top 5, which includes Airlift and Housefull 3. In terms of occupancy, it’s the best opening for an Akshay Kumar film since Rowdy Rathore in 2012.
It’s also only the second Hindi film this year that can be categorised under ‘excellent’ because a total of 14.11 crore is outstanding given the fact that it was competing against a big film like ‘Mohenjo Daro’.

Akki is bigger superstar than srk if he will cut down his no of movies per year he will easily achieve these big no srk solo 19 cr (fan) on a partial holiday akki 15 cr on working with clash if srk will do 3-4 movies per year like akki 10 cr would be dream for him.

Putting 15 cr with clash is a great achievement, but I’m still not understanding why there is no much difference between the collections of housefull 3 and Rustom, though former was a massy movie and released solo.
And how come Airlift collections are on lower side though it released solo and had almost similar plot as that of Rustom.

According to KRK (He predicted both movies exact 100% correct opening 15 days ago ) rustom would have done even more if it would have release solo. I definitely agree as film was running housefull in night shows.
