After a terrific beginning to 2016 with Airlift, we have yet another film that’s looking good for Akshay Kumar. Inspired by true incidents, Rustom is being directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.
The film will be presented by Neeraj Pandey, who has previously directed Akshay in classics like Special 26 and Baby.
The first look poster is out already and it’s less than a month since Rustom went on floors. There is a reason for putting the poster out so early. Notice the top of the poster, it clearly highlights the release date of the film – 12th August 2016.
Releasing posters so early, sends out a clear message that the makers are confident about the subject and they want the big release date (Independence Day weekend).
Mohenjo Daro is also releasing during the same weekend and the makers of the film will be worried as the trade is warming up to Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. More so because films on real life incidents (Airlift, Neerja) are doing well at the box office.

The budget of Mohanjodaro is huge clash with RUSTOM difficult to get the hit status.

Classy poster…way to go Akki…as far as release date is concerned I think both Rustom and Mohenjo daro can get suitable screen space in India if they are clashing..one would assume Mohenjo daro being made in such a big canvas deserves a 60:40 ratio with regard to screen counts. Assuming there are around 5500 screens in India then it could be like Mohenjo daro will get about 3300 screens and Rustom at 2200 screens. Since both the superstars are real life friends and neighbors I am pretty sure they will work a way around with the screen allocations if the clash is certain. All the best for both films.

by a clash both will have a loss. mohenjodaro has a very big budget. it may suffer due to good content of rustom as it needs to be huge for profit
