After a terrific beginning to 2016 with Airlift, we have yet another film that’s looking good for Akshay Kumar. Inspired by true incidents, Rustom is being directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.
The film will be presented by Neeraj Pandey, who has previously directed Akshay in classics like Special 26 and Baby.
The first look poster is out already and it’s less than a month since Rustom went on floors. There is a reason for putting the poster out so early. Notice the top of the poster, it clearly highlights the release date of the film – 12th August 2016.
Releasing posters so early, sends out a clear message that the makers are confident about the subject and they want the big release date (Independence Day weekend).
Mohenjo Daro is also releasing during the same weekend and the makers of the film will be worried as the trade is warming up to Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. More so because films on real life incidents (Airlift, Neerja) are doing well at the box office.

By releasing an early poster, the makers are sending out a clear message that they are confident that the content of their film is great. With Akshay performing as Rustom at the upcoming Zee Cine Awards, this is an amazing strategy given the clash. I never thought I would say this but, watch out Hrithik. This looks like a cult film.

Akshay kumar holds a bigger fan Base then hrithik in india nd if rustom will be an entertaining lavish thriller then rustom will easily affect mohanjodaro collection nd if mohanjodaro turn out be a movie like kites ?? Then ??? huge loss for mohanjodaro producers. Mohenjo-Daro is in trouble. Absolutely nothing is known of the film no teaser no poster. May be the only big film this year which has yet not released anything. Absolutely 0 buzz.
Also release period is not good either. 12th august will clash with rustom then 19 august some ritesh dekhmukh film banjo is releasing then 25th august flying jatt.
It is such huge budget and needs one of the best release dates and yet even if get extraordinary wom the limited screens due to other release will not allow it to get big no.
Still hoping akshay as hrithiks frienf may postpone rustom as hrithik coming after 2 years atleasy deserves a good release date.
