After a terrific beginning to 2016 with Airlift, we have yet another film that’s looking good for Akshay Kumar. Inspired by true incidents, Rustom is being directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.
The film will be presented by Neeraj Pandey, who has previously directed Akshay in classics like Special 26 and Baby.
The first look poster is out already and it’s less than a month since Rustom went on floors. There is a reason for putting the poster out so early. Notice the top of the poster, it clearly highlights the release date of the film – 12th August 2016.
Releasing posters so early, sends out a clear message that the makers are confident about the subject and they want the big release date (Independence Day weekend).
Mohenjo Daro is also releasing during the same weekend and the makers of the film will be worried as the trade is warming up to Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. More so because films on real life incidents (Airlift, Neerja) are doing well at the box office.

If there is content in the movie it will surely challenge Mohenjodaro, another biggie.
Good to see Akshay in such roles.
Such genre of films haven’t been major grossers and have a ceiling to how much they can collect. No guarantee Mohenjo Daro will be a blockbuster but if it’s on the same lines as Baahubali and Bajirao Mastani with big action, it could be a major grosser and you’d expect it to easily outgross Rustom.
Rustom could benefit from added publicity from the clash and it doesn’t need a massive release so even 2000 screens would be sufficient.

The better amongst the two will emerge the winner. Mohenjo has not yet released any poster or still,the more it gets delayed the more the buzz for rustam continues. Like me I had and still put my money on Mohenjo but will be unfair to rule out rustam if indeed it turns out to be anything close to Airlift. The poster looks very interesting. The budget should be low so in all departments for now Rustam looks quite promising. If Mohenjo comes out with a poster or still then same would be said only that audience have not seen Hrithik for a while so you expect it to collect higher weekend. From Monday I think it’s all about content.

Mohenjodaro will also be a big and good film but Mohenjodaro has a high budget.Mohenjodaro might take bigger opening than rustom but hrithik fans should know that getting hit/superhit verdict will be easier for rustom as it’s medium budget.

Ha ha ha. Indicine you really think people will watch this same torturous crap after 2 previous craps namely S26, Baby, etc? No doubt airlift was good to some extent but how you have again started doing chaaplusi of joker boy aka greedy gobar. Mohenjo daro is a completely different concept and much much exciting. It’s also about historical events and civilization. No worry for MD from this tiny small budget wannabe same torturous classic. MD will easily beat the shit out of this maha crapfest.
