Rustom has recorded a fantastic first weekend of 49-50 crore, which is about 15% more than the first 3-day collections of Airlift which released earlier this year. The collections are only a little lower than a franchise film like Housefull 3 which appealed to a larger section of the audience.
It’s also worth pointing out that Rustom was up against a big film like ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and has still managed to surpass the collections of ‘Airlift’.
The first weekend of Rustom is also only a little lower than ‘FAN’ which released on a partial holiday.
Mohenjo Daro is a washout with weekend business of around 30 crore, which is less than films like Baaghi, Dishoom and Udta Punjab.

How come BOI figure more than indicine figure. Rustom reached the maximum threshold in Sunday with the occupancy of 80-85% because of lesser screen leaving no chance of growing further, had it got enough screen it would have collected more than 25.

Watched Rustom and really enjoyed it there was not a single moment in this movies where i was not curious about the story i bet when u watch it u can not move to anywhere Akshay delivered one of the best performances. A very strong supporting cast i watched after a very long time.

Airlift and rustom managed 45 and 50 cr weekend respectively being a clash now just imagine if these movies would have got a solo release then sure airlift was above 150 cr and 200 cr for Rustom… !!!

Rustom is not a 2 star movie from anywhere. It is much much better & also entertaining than HF3, Dilwale ,HNY but indicine is really biased this time.

Clashing with mohenjodaro has given free publicity and advantage to Rustom and also the promotional overdrive,catchy trail or and hit song set the momentum for rustom although the movie is average,and garnering mixed responses,yet it is doing well bcoz nowadays perception matters,and the perception is that Rustom is better amongst the two releases even though in reality it is an average movie but audiences are giving Rustom a chance bcoz no one has the time to see or pay for two movies,since the general perception is that mohenjodaro is a crap movie,.To conclude though both movies are average still Rustom is doing well is bcoz of clever marketing strategy,by the time the actual word of mouth sets in it would be declared a superhit ,but the credit for success should also be given to the makers of mohenjodaro for making Rustom superhit

Nowadays perception,clever marketing strategy ,release date have become instrumental in declaring a film successful,Filmmaking has now become a product placement and not craft or art that’s why shell life of films have become small.

Salman khan fans suffer from a disease called selective amnesia ,have they forgotten their star’s status between 2000 and 2009,the ratio of flops and disasters exceeded his court cases,most of his films in that period didn’t even open well,some of his fans say that srk is finished,I could only tell them that dreaming is nice,even salman can survive countless flops and disasters then surely srk can ,srk’s last two so called flops dilwale and fan grossed 394 and 185 crores respectively worldwide,sultan has yet to cross dilwale’s overseas collection and highly likely it won’t,even after releasing solo on eid,srk needs just one good movie to bounce back and shatter all records till then enjoy
