Emraan Hashmi as cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin: First Look

Here’s the first look of Emraan Hashmi from one of his upcoming films, where he will be seen playing the role of ex Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin.

The biopic is said to be based on Azhar’s illustrious career, his success, failures and several controversies that the famous cricketer was involved in.

Prachi Desai, who last shared screen-space with Emraan in ’Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’, will be playing Azhar’s first wife Naureen in the biopic. His affair and marriage to actress Sangeeta Bijlani will also be shown in the film.

Azhar’s career ended when he was accused of match-fixing. He was banned for life.

One glaring mistake in Emraan’s first look is that the actor is seen sporting a stubble. In his cricketing career that started in 1985 and ended with the match-fixing scandal in 2000, Azhar was never seen with a beard. He was either clean-shaven or sported a moustache.
