Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has said that people who spread terrorism or get involved in terror acts have absolutely nothing to do with religion.

When asked to comment on the on-going controversy surrounding Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, whose speeches were said to have inspired terrorists in Dhaka, Aamir said “I won’t comment on that. I have said what I want to”
Aamir spent Eid with his mother this year, as his wife and son (Azaad) are holidaying in Europe
“On Eid I meet my family, spent time with them. When I was small I was interested in Eidi. Kiran and Azaad are not here, they have gone to Europe on a holiday. I give Azaad only Rs 2 Eidi, so that he doesn’t get spoiled” he added.
Not agree with Aamir. I know you respect your religion and doesn’t want to create any negativity for the same but in this ideology Irfan khan set the example. Even Muslim Maulana also find as culprit in this terror activities so stop saying that they don’t understand religion they do but according to their wish. Even in Hindus most of so called spiritual gurus/baba are one of the biggest criminals. They have read the holy books more than normal people but still doing what they want to. In Islam…Jihad has protocols or rather criterias…ideally you engage in Jihad only when you have been attacked and seem to be wiped off.

Fight your bad habits,fight your ego,arrogance,oppression(oppressing lower status) etc…That’s the most encouraged Jihad. Here people take advantage of a particular chapter in a religious book and suit it the way they want too suit themselves.

What Aamir meant to say that, religion doesn’t preach terrorism, at least not through the holy books. Same with Quran. But every holy book can be misinterpreted just like our superstar’s statements are being misinterpreted. That’s why some idiots take the path of violence. So, I support everything Aamir said.
Now coming to Zakir Naik point, think about that, if someone follows you on twitter and befriends with you on facebook and then goes to killing people, will people say that you are preaching terrorism? no? then why Zakir Naik is targeted? There are a lot of Zakir Naik video(I have watched) where he clearly speaks against violence and terrorism in the name of religion. He should be awarded for speaking against violence, but media never preached his teachings, rather accusing him.

Agreed with Amir Khan. Do not think any religion preaches hate and extremism.
Even amongst Muslims there is only a small minority of people who have mis-interpreted Islam and involve in extremism activities. A large majority of them are completely fed up of such things and want peace/security and would themselves want these extremists (be it Muslims or not) to be hanged.
Agree with @ aisha about the concept of jihad which has been mis-understood by many. It has a lot to do with inner jihad i.e. struggle one’s own evil desires. Whereas in the extremism happening around the globe, unfortunately in majority of cases it is mainly the Muslims who have been killed in bombings, etc.
These extremists, guided by whatever motives, sadly forget that Islam puts a lot of emphasis on the sanctity of human life. There are quotes like “Killing a person is like killing entire humanity” and treating others as brothers and choosing for them what you choose for oneself.

Why I am saying that religion has direct connection with Religion. Who has created Hindus,Muslim,Sikh,christian,jain etc religion. All created by humans not god.

They should also present the reason why he refused. Media should encourage freedom of expression and not stifle it. It is time to think!

@Sky : Please read my second comment, Islam & Christianity have been existing from ages why there was no term called as Terrorism earlier ? I agree Religion is one of the reason to brain wash n manipulate youth to lure them to join evil groups but it is not the sole reason for it. People who know real Islam will never join such groups. Even Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) own uncle was non Muslim and never accepted Islam he could have easily influenced him if Islam is all about violence & wrong preachings. ISIS can travel & attack in Paris & Bangla why there is not a single attack in Israel which is more closer to Syria or ISIS hold ? Do you have a valid explanation for this ?

I only said that he should stay away from any controversial statements which affect him more. There is already many protesters against him for his comment on intolerance.
