Priyanka Chopra to produce regional films

Actress Priyanka Chopra, will be trying her hand at production under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures. To start out, the banner will be focused on regional films this year.

The films that will be produced under her banner are Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (Bhojpuri), a classic love story written and directed by Santosh Mishra, which features Bhojpuri superstar Nirahau and Amrapali Dubey, ‘Ventilator’, a Marathi film, which will be written and directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, the director of Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Ek Onkar, a Punjabi coming-of-age film.

Talking about her venture, Priyanka said, ”Today, entertainment has a wide canvas which is not restricted by language or medium. At Purple Pebble Pictures, we are aspiring to erase boundaries and create an environment where the content / story is the hero. We are a country filled with exceptional young talent and our endeavor is to provide a platform for talent across the entertainment business to showcase their abilities.”
