This comparison is between the last two Diwali release – Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
Both films released on the day after Diwali puja, with PRDP getting around 10% more screens. Ticket prices were comparable at most centres, but the all India average ticket price of PRDP was slightly higher than Happy New Year.
In 4 days, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo leads with Rs 129.77 crore, while Happy New Year collected Rs 123.87 crore during the same period. The advantage for PRDP was the extended 4 day weekend.

After Krishh 3 broke the record of Chennai express through producer figure than they went back to BOI figure. They started to abuse Hrithik Roshan and his father for apparently using their own calculator but when SRK used the same calculator to break into supposedly 40+ opening and 200 crore barrier than it was fair for them.
Lets see SRK give opening like Salman with Unfavourable genre, flop cast, flop heroine and no promotions. It’s been 2 years since SRK appeared solo in a movie. I am waiting for Dilwale because I am sure red chillies calculator is going to be used in here for the collections.

PRDP rocks
the difference of one extra day will be there at the end of movie run. if PRDP holds well at weekdays they 20/30cr will be extra from HNY. which is not extraordinary or shamshing.

Before Release Bhai fans were expecting it to cross 300 crores predicting that HAHK magic would be recreated.Sooraj was the greatest director for them even bigger than Raju
One week after release they accuse everybody who doesn’t like the movie to have hatred for Salman and being jealous about his success and they would still predict it to come close to 250
2-3 weeks after the release when the final collections would be revealed they would say that PRDP was a crap and probably the worst movie of the century and yet it crossed 200 crores thanks to only one man i.e Salman
