Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is set for a bigger than expected drop at the box office today, as business has come down quite significantly at multiplexes on Monday. It looks like the film is set for a total of less than 15 crore on its first weekday.
PRDP had a strong extended weekend, but cracks began to appear as early as Saturday, when the ‘on-the-spot’ ticket sales decreased drastically on both Saturday and Sunday. PRDP was pulling through on strength of a good advance and also corporate bookings for the weekend.
While single-screens business is holding up well, multiplexes have shown sharp decline on Monday, with business down by more than 60% from Sunday. States like UP and Bihar are strongholds for both Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya films, and it’s in these circuits where the film is holding up well.
Mysore circuit has shown a significant decline as multiplexes in cities like Mangalore and Bangalore have literally crashed on Monday. Even multiplexes in Mumbai circuit has shown alarming drops, with the exception being the state of Gujarat where the film is enjoying a dream run.
Looking at the weekend trend (decline each day after a fantastic opening day) and the way the film is performing on Monday, a total of 250 crore plus is likely to be out of reach and it remains to be seen if PRDP can take advantage of a open second week.
It’s high time the Indian audience mature now.
Exactly as I thought it was gonna happen ! A shitty film like PRDP cannot be a huge success, even with Salman. The audience realized how bad it was, now it’s gonna crash in the week. FLOP written all over it.

You would think the audience would connect to a family movie like PRDP featuring a shameless girl disguised as a simple, naive, innocent looking girl and a bad boy suddenly turned good boy in the movie. Say what you wanna say, the character Prem and innocent looking girls are already buried dead in the 90s, they can’t be revived no matter what you do because it’s 2015.Expect the movie to crash in the weekdays.

Forget the collections guys, let’s talk what worked n what didn’t.
1. Salman’s Prem is the strongest reason for watching PRDP.
He always rocks in double roles, Judwaa was really fun. Here, when u see Prince Vijay n Prem in the same frame, its like 2 different ppl talking to each other.
Body language, voice modulation n eye gaze, Salman has worked to make the 2 of them different. I wish there were more scenes between Prem n Vijay.
Ajay Devgn(Action Jackson) n Akshay Kumar(Rowdy Rathore) should learn how to do double role from Salman.
2. Sonam Kapoor gave a restrained performance unlike what she does in other films. Sooraj Barjatya should get the credit.
3.The sets were huge especially the palace, looked perfect.
4. The sisters of Vijay track seemed confusing in the beginning, it resolves only in the pre climax.
5. Deepak Dobriyal was good as usual.
6. Action scenes were laughable, only Salman did them well.
7. Neil Nitin Mukesh has nothing to do apart from grumbling, plotting n getting saved from falling.
Overall, PRDP gives a feel of kind of movies made in the 60’s usually starring Shammi Kapoor.
When collections drop on sunday then u can easily understand that the writing is on the wall..shandaar also had a similar Scenerio where the first day was the best and then it kept on falling throughout the weekend and the film completely crashed on Monday..the collections of PRDP were at high levels so the film is a hit but if we keep in mind the trend over the weekend,then I won’t be surprised if it not only falls but crashes on Monday

Whatever PRDP has collected so far and will be collecting in its lifetime will all be bcos of one and the only ultimate megastar salman so don’t forget that .
