Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was rock-steady on Day 2 at the box office, with collections, as per early estimates, set to be in the 30-31 crore plus range. When the final collections come in from all versions, the 2-day collections will be somewhere around the 73 crore mark, which is incredible when you consider the fact that Friday was only a restricted holiday for Bhai Dooj.
The morning shows on Friday was considerably down as compared to Thursday, but noon onwards, with the Bhai Dooj holiday advantage in places, the film picked up and recorded high occupancy in the evening / night shows.
The corporate booking will now come into play on Saturday and Sunday, which should ensure decent collections for the film. If the film does show growth on Saturday, the trend would also suggest that Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is set for a big Sunday at the box office.
PRDP has also opened well in the overseas markets, with gross collections of Rs 11 crore on Day 1. The worldwide gross for Thursday, with a limited overseas release, was Rs 66.8 crore.

All the morons who are barking that PRDP got more screens than hny and other qeen movies should understand that screen counts depend on stardom. More screens mean more starpower. E.g- Akki movies get more screens than tushar kapur movies. Queen movies get more screens than Akki movies. In the same way Bhai movies get more screens than queen movies.
MONDAY will be crucial day.
First of all I am a diehard akki fan who always go to watch his movies in first day itself but I am a big fan of Bollywood as well.
Hum appke Hein kaun was one of my favourite movies of all time as it showed the family value, emotions, the whole unique indian marriage in such a playful manner. So my expectations from Prem ratan dhan paayo was sky high.
I went to see it with my family and we all were laughing, smiling and showing all kind of emotions as the movie was spellbinding. When I came out of the theather I was smiling so hard, it made me feel good. I loved everything about this movie. From grand sets to lovely music. The sequence where the two brothers were fighting and the bachpan khaan was playing was heart touching and so did the sequence where Prem somehow win over the sisters. People were literally clapping on that scene in the theaters.
I don’t know about others, but it exceeded by already enormous expectations. And I was like ” Maan gaye salmaan”. He gave two amazing movies this year. Bajrangi and PRDP. I was not a big fan of his previous movies as they were strictly one time watch.
This movie makes you look at the things in different way. Encourage you to strengthen your bonds with all your relatives and spread happiness all around. It was a great escapee from reality and that is why we all watch movies for.
I think, everyone should go and watch this masterpiece specifically with your family. There is no way you are going to regret those 3 hours.
I don’t care much about collections as they are just number. But its the movie that stands the test of time and it is one of them.
But still, 73 crores in 2 days is just phenomenal.
Go guys and enjoy what Bollywood has to offer this time even if you are not a fan of salmaan as you may not get to see such type of movies in future.
