Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has recorded similar collections as Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year on Day 2 at the box office. The Hindi version of the film has collected Rs 31.03 crore and the Telugu/Tamil business (figures of which hasn’t been officially released) should take the total to around the 31.7 crore mark.
The drop in business of PRDP is lower than Happy New Year, even though the SRK starrer had the advantage of Day 2 being a Saturday.
Day 3 will be interesting because HNY couldn’t take advantage of a big holiday on Sunday. If PRDP can put up similar collections on Saturday, as HNY did on Sunday, it’ll be a good weekend trend for the film.

Collections are good but 1 thing is for sure that this film will be nowhere close to Bajrangi bhaijaan in terms of lifetime business..the weekend trend will give a clear picture whether it can cross 250 crore or not
Being an Srk fan I will agree that bhai may have beated hny in the Hindi version day 1. But keep in mind same day last year the screen count was less and look at the ride Bhai has had with BB being his best. Come on guys he had to knock the day 1 number by at least a decent margin.
