Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has recorded similar collections as Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year on Day 2 at the box office. The Hindi version of the film has collected Rs 31.03 crore and the Telugu/Tamil business (figures of which hasn’t been officially released) should take the total to around the 31.7 crore mark.
The drop in business of PRDP is lower than Happy New Year, even though the SRK starrer had the advantage of Day 2 being a Saturday.
Day 3 will be interesting because HNY couldn’t take advantage of a big holiday on Sunday. If PRDP can put up similar collections on Saturday, as HNY did on Sunday, it’ll be a good weekend trend for the film.

Now my question to Indicine that why you guys even down market your skills, you guys are very good in prediction and estimate specially for big films and your sources are too strong, but you guys killing your trust powers with these bullshit official collection. can you please advise how come hny screens 5000 of last year is now less than 4500 screens of prdp this year.Are you making fool of your users earlier or now. If screen size reduce to 700-800 screens than how come the collection remain same. Idealy it should came down as it can’t happen that there were no adiences where these screens added earlier and remove after. Just because you are srk fans that doesn’t mean you cheats others without a simple mathematics. I hope I get a reply from you side though chances are very less.
@Sky, the answer is simple. We stick to official figures for all films. There are three problems when it comes to tracking and posting our own figures for films. One, it takes a lot of time and effort to do it for every film. Two, it would have been worthwhile if people who follow and talk about numbers were genuinely interested in real figures. All that people want to believe is the higher figure. Three, it creates more confusion. There is one official sources and one trade source already, both are not very consistent.
You have called us ‘SRK fans’ already. So will you believe us if we track the actual collections and say HNY collected more than PRDP? If not, then what’s the point?

Before Ghajini, no one from the audiences cared about Box office collections. Ppl only talked about which song, scene or dialogue they liked from the films. Now it’s only about collections,collections &collections.
BOI shows 67 cr and bhai fans saying salman does not multipul collection .
So far only two movies able to cross 100cr weekend that are D3 and pk, though in Indicine and manipulationpur CE & HNY also manage the same.
The trend prdp is better than CNY, first day 39cr as compare to 38cr of cny all India, second day 29.25 as compare to 28cr of cny. I hope the movie remain atleast same occupancies which it had on Friday. So it can have 95-96cr weekend. So far only d3 manage to shattered records without a holiday advantage weekend. We are waiting who will break d3 weekend record with 1 holiday in 3 days.
And also it us only movie which has broken highest single day record twice in first 3 days itself.
