Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is nearing the end of its run and the film has performed well both at the domestic and overseas markets.
All Time India Records:
- Prem Ratan Dhan Payo recorded the second highest opening day collections of all time, behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year.
- Out of the Top 30 highest single day collections of all time, a Salman Khan film finds a mention 13 times, which is staggering to say the least. Salman has also become the ONLY actor to deliver collections of 30 crore or more, on a single day, 7 times!
- PRDP was the third highest first weekend grosser. Behind Happy New Year and Dhoom 3.
- PRDP was also the joint fastest film to cross the 100 crore mark. It took 3 days – same as Dhoom 3, Happy New Year and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Salman is the only star to achieve it twice.
- The all-time first week list of records is dominated by Salman and Aamir. PRDP is in 4th position, behind Dhoom 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK
- PRDP has become Salman’s 3rd consecutive 200 crore grosser after Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It’s also only the 9th 200 crore grosser in the history of Indian Cinema
- PRDP is likely to end its run as the 7th highest grosser of all time.
- The Sooraj Barjatya directed film has also become the 2nd highest Diwali grosser of all time.
- Sooraj and Salman continued their winning streak

With superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan missing from action this year, 2015 has been Salman Khan’s year all the way. No other actor has come close. The Top 2 highest opening day, opening weekend, opening week and highest grossers, all belong to Salman.
Check out the following box office facts:
- Salman’s best opening day of 2015 is PRDP collecting 41.75 crore (including all versions) on the Diwali holiday. The next best non-Salman film is Akshay Kumar’s holiday release Singh Is Bling which collected Rs 20.67 crore.
- Both Salman films collected about 102 crore in their respective first weekends at the box office, the next best is Rs 54.44 crore of Akshay’s Singh Is Bling.
- Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected Rs 184.65 crore and PRDP collected Rs 165.45 crore in their first weeks at the box office, the next best is, again, Akshay’s Singh Is Bling Rs 77.6 crore – which is not even half of PRDP.
- Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected Rs 56.1 crore in its second weekend (3 days), the next best is Tanu Weds Manu Returns at Rs 28.3 crore. PRDP collected 19.57 crore in its second weekend.
- Second Week: Bajrangi Bhaijaan 87.63 crore, Tanu Weds Manu Returns 46.66 crore, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo 36.07 crore. Next best is shockingly Baahubali at 26.38 crore. Which just goes to show that almost all other big films this year, have been rejected by the audience.
- The combined domestic collections of two Salman Khan films this year is more than Rs 530 crore. The worldwide gross has also crossed the 1000 crore mark.
Overseas box office is no different. PRDP will eventually cross the 100 crore mark, which only pales in comparison to the nearly 200 crore overseas gross of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. No other film has even crossed the 50 crore mark overseas in 2015.

@Sunil shut up. Biggest megastar is only aamir khan. No srk or Salman can come close to him. 4 ATHGs back to back ATBBs and founder of 100 Cr, 200 Cr, 300 Cr clubs in India, 200 Cr, 300 Cr clubs in overseas. What is Salman? Nothing. He is just lucky that aamir does less films otherwise Salman would be nowhere in front of megastar aamir khan. Next year dangal will earn more than twice of sultan..
@kaliya @hrothik you guys understand the difference between last 5 years and a while career? If, so then please stick to the point. I am not comparing last 5 years, I am talking about the comparison of whole career. After giving back to back flops, disasters and then give blockbuster doesnt make you a true superstar. You have to be a consistent throughout a career with least number of flops and no disasters. As things stand today, srk has only 2 less blockbusters than Salman, but he also has no single disaster, while Salman has 3 disasters. That’s the difference. If Salman is little ahead of srk in terms of recent success, then he is also way far ahead of srk in terms of failures. That all redeems everything. You like it or not, truth is and will remain that srk is biggest megastar and Salman is still a kid in front of him. After the whole career, no body will remember who had more 100 Cr bla bla bla bull$hits, but everyone will remember who remained consistently successful throughout the whole career. If you guys have some IQ and brain then understand all these and stop being shameless of last 5 years of so called success of 2 decades failure giving khan. You should be shamed to even compare your 2 decades struggling khan to the all time ruler and biggest global star srk.
@Raees Rice wala : Looks like you also remember how many low marks you got in your primary & Higher education than coming on top in Post Graduate another Example is Sachin has more ducks than Dravid so you mean to say if we compare overall career Dravid (though no offence to Gentle Dravid) is bigger than Sachin because he has less number of ducks ???? Lol
Those who are bragging about Srk consistency should know that he has given flops with directors like Ramesh Sippy, Mahesh Bhatt, Ashutosh Gowariker and Priyadarshan !!!!!!! So called consistency in career my foot !!!!!!
@xzone : Its not me but you who need some sense. The reason I wrote Asylum is I know you will keep coming back due to your old habit but once you are gone to Syria there is no return buddy it will be a Last Journey for you !!!!! Lol
@hrithik, I dont want to read your logicless and retarded comment because the comments you just posted doesnt make any sense. Your jealousy towards srk’s unparallel and enviable success proves how big he is and how many haters get sleepless nights and hoe much obsessed they are with him. That’s shahrukh khan. Love him or hate him but no one can ignore him. He was the biggest megastar, he is the biggest megastar and he will always remain the biggest megastar in the history of Indian cinema. No one can match him or take his place.period.
