Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose film ‘Dilwale’ was recently affected by the ‘intolerance’ debate, has refused to comment on Aamir Khan no longer being the brand ambassador of Incredible India.
When asked to comment by reporters, Shah Rukh said “I don’t have anything to do with it: neither was I recruited nor was I let go. Please leave me out of it”
From his comments, it’s clear that Shah Rukh wants to avoid making controversial comments. More so when the media is known to misquote and blow things out of proportion.
Last week, Aamir Khan’s stint as the brand ambassador of Incredible India came to an end. His contract with the agency wasn’t renewed.
The actor had said “It has been an honour and a pleasure for me to be the Brand Ambassador for the Incredible India campaign for the past 10 years. I was happy to be of service to my country, and will always be available for it. I would like to clarify that all public service films I have done till date have all been free of any cost to me. It is always an honour for me to be of service of my country, and this is how it will always be.”
“It is the prerogative of the government to decide whether they need a brand ambassador for any campaign, and if so, who that ambassador should be. I respect the decision of the government to discontinue with my services. I am sure they will take all appropriate steps to do what is best for the country. Whether I am brand ambassador or not, India will remain Incredible, and that’s the way it should be”
And you all still consider india tolerant? If yes, then I guess there is no such a tolerant country like India where one of its biggest superstar is afraid to comment.
I sometimes feel the media is perhaps the reason why the nation isn’t developing and matters are blown out of proportion.
What was the need to highlight srk’s comment about intolerance throughout the course of interview in Ndtv when srk also discussed about other important things pertaining to the choices of his movies and love for his family.Srk may consider Barkha to be her friend but why doesn’t srk realise he’s a big superstar and these media persons try their level best to use his stardom for their own benefit.
Similarly amir never said he wanted to leave the nation in favt he said it was disastrous on Kirans part to even think about it but the common perception was aamir wants to leave the country because of growing intolerance.
Please media channels don’t ruin this beautiful country and make petty issues into national sensation for your own sake

1. Media is STUPID and tries to generate cheap TRP at the expense of movie stars
Its stupid on part of media to ask such question from actors/actresses. They are just doing their job and ask them question related to movie/acting etc. Imagine a reporter asking Sonia Gandhi what is the weekend box office collection of Dilwale or BB or PRDP etc.
Media does this get cheap TRP and if by chance likes of SRK/AK/Sallu/Akki etc takes any stand, then these stupid channels will play it left right and centre.
2. We Indian treats actors as role model but actually they are not. With due respect half of these so called role models (actors/actress) do not possess basic education or intelligence or knowledge to know who is president of India and we expect them to comment on issues like secularism, religion, intolerance, GDP etc.that requires deep understanding and knowledge on subject matter.
Its rubbish!
3. Actors are soft target.
Anyone and everyone under the sun threatens these actors mostly for trivial matters. This has to stop. When a movie is made its not only SRK, AK, or SK works but hundreds of people have given their blood and sweat. Producer’s, distributor’s, exhibitor’s etc, their livelihood dependent upon them. No one has right to attack a duly censored movie.
4. I appreciate SRK not answering such questions that has hidden motives. I appeal to every actor/superstar not to take up any question related to politics.
One plus point of Dilwale :-
Dilwale didn’t do well in multiplexes but its open the door for Sharukh movies in single screens as #KAALI. (Dilwale done super hit business in all single screens of India). After Mithun Chakravorty (Pyari Bahna) the 2nd bollywood actor is so famous as #KAALI.
Forget Raj, Rahul etc., Now only #KAALI
King Khan should not comment on these petty issues anyway.
