Neerja had a fantastic first week in India and has continued its phenomenal run into its second week at the box office. The film has been declared tax free in a few states, including Maharastra, UP, Delhi and Gujarat.
The Sonam Kapoor starrer has already collected Rs 39 crore in 8 days and should get close to the 50 crore mark by the end of its 2nd weekend. The India vs Pakistan T20 cricket match has hit business at multiplexes, where the occupancy for the late evening / night shows was at around the same level as yesterday.
The film is now looking at lifetime business of 60 crore plus and could go on to be a much bigger grosser.
