Akshay Kumar has become only the 16th Hindi film actor to win the National Award. Only 23 performances in Hindi films have won the National Award for Best Actor. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has won the most number of awards for his performance in films like Agneepath, Black, Paa and Piku.
Sanjeev Kumar, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Ajay Devgn are the only actors to win 2 awards each.
The iconic trio of Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have never won a National Award. Shah Rukh was the leading contender in 2003, but his performance in Swades was overlooked and Saif Ali Khan’s performance in Hum Tum was declared the winner.
Hrithik Roshan too was expected to win the National Award for his incredible act in Koi Mil Gaya, but Tamil actor Vikram won the award that year for his film Pithamagan.

Sanjeev Kumar is a perfect actor & indicine,I think you missed Sunny deol for Ghayal(91) & Damini(94).
I wonder if the jury really watched the performances of Manoj bajpayee in aligarh & randeep hooda in sarabjit.. No wonder such fine actors will always play second fiddle to mediocre actors & never get the success they truly deserve.
performance in Roustom can not
deserve a national award
I think Dangal is more strong impression
then Roustom
National award is the only award left in India that looks genuine nowadays barring few exception(saif ali khan for hum tum).and i think for amir khan,it is like leonardo di caprio case for oscar.
Only devgn…..
Very very disappointed Indicine didn’t say anything about national award controversy
For those who are crying that amir deserved the award for dangal.
National film awards given for the performances and not for the preparation for the role, you are good actor if you adapt the character within 10 minutes rathee than practicing for month
Special mention- body transformation is not considered a great acting.
congo to Akshay! finally won an award! doesnt really mean he was the best they have made him happy chalo kuch tho mila!!! although he is a thorough entertainer!!!!now atleast he will attend award functions lol!!!
Don’t know why so many negetivity about Akshay getting the National Award, didn’t he deserved it for Special 26 or BABY, this time he deserved it, so hatets backboff.
@ Anti Akkians,
If Akki doesn’t win any award You jerks blabber, HE CANNOT WIN ANY AWARD (YES, YOU ARE RIGHT BECAUSE THOSE AWARDS HAVE PRICE TAGS AND YOUR FESTIVAL MADE STARS BUY THOSE AWARDS)…
But, When Akki wins NATIONAL AWARD, You chameleons start saying, He has bought the award…
Maansik Santulan bigad gaya hai kya, Morons?
This is a NATIONAL AWARD and Akki has won it, not by any festival made star, because it is not for sale…
Tight slap on the faces of Festival Made Stars and on the faces of their fans…
Note:No festival made star has won any National Award yet… ROFL.

must read this and provide answers to hard hitting questions.
The public opinion matters most so by this Aamir & Salman followed by SRK & Hrithik are most loved Superstars in India. Those barking about festival made stars should know that Akki is has proved his impotency even on big festivals and have given flops.
I urge all Salman fans not to debate about awards as neither Bhai nor we vouch for any awards. We believe in real rewards which Bhai has been getting consistently. Let Akki won Oscar for Toilet movie who cares !!!!!!!! But if his fans abuses Salman we will give them back double !!!!!!!
@ hrithik,
Festival made stars got failed to get 3 digits crores collections even… ROFL… They have just done injustice with their so called festival created stardom when it comes to release their craps on non holidays… LMAO…
@akki haters..please stop barking and spreading negativity. Just look akshay kumars body language and dialogue delivery in Rustom, you will surely get your answer for akki getting this award.
@ hrithik,
Same thing apply to you and those illiterate fans
too…
If Your thinking is to give back double then Akkians will never hesitate to bring the Eid Made star down in seconds… Beware…
Koi mil gya se HRITHIK ko nhi mila ….tabhi samaj gya national award dene walo ke pass sense nhi….. lekin mamili film se mamili acting se akshay ko dilwaya gya hai…. he does not deserve
@The Unmatchable Makkhi : First help your idol cross Rowdy Rathore and then think about bringing down Megastar Salman Khan or even his fans. 4 aane ki murgi aur 12 aane ka masala !!!!!!!!!! Lol
@The Unmatchable Makkhi : Do you know who is the actor with most flops and disasters among current actors ? No prizes for guessing it is none other than your idol !!!!!!!!!! Lol
The shameful record is etched in histroy books forever.
Too much fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ hrithik,
O le le le, Munna… Don’t give us proof that you all fans of the Eid made star are also the primary drop outs just like your idol is…
Your Eid made star is as much great that after even 2005 he has been carrying the unbeatable record of Rs. 1 crores of Marriegold, Hahahahahaha, Even Chunky Pandey, Aftaab Shivdasani, Johny Lever, Tushar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav or Himesh Reshamiyya are not able to break that record… Don’t worry, IT WILL REMAIN SAFE IN YOUR BHAI’s RECORDS…
Abey Jerk, 9 Years se Eid par films lakar kaunsa bada kaam kar raha hai Criminal Khan, Bata de?
Eid ke bagair laya tha na JAI HO, Apna fake stardom check karne ke liye, Kya hua? 115 crores ke andar hi dum todd diya…
First ask your bhai to be a good human, collection and records to bante rahenge and tutt’te rahenge… CRIME DUNIYA SE BAHAR NIKALNE KO BOL USS PAHLE…
@The Unmatchable Makkhi : That is because despite releasing on Christmas 2010 with chartbuster song Teesri Maar Khan could not be even Hit !!!! Akki has waste big festivals like no one, he dont deserve big holidays hence only Megastars come and rule on Big Holidays. Abbey idiot !!! What was Eid (releasing period) before Wanted ? Salman created the hysteria and he owns it, most importantly audience prefers him over any other star (including Aamir) teri Akki ki aukaat bhi nahi Eid ke baare mein sochne ki forget releasing or clashing it !!!!!!!!!!!!
It is irony how fans of an actor who yet to cross 135 crs are comparing him with a Megastar with two 300+crs grosser within an year !!!!!!!!!! Lol
Akki beta tumse naa ho paayega !!!!!!!!!! ROFL
