‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ has collected Rs 121.48 crore in two weeks at the domestic box office, making it the fourth highest grosser of the year – only below films like ‘Sultan’, ‘Airlift’ and ‘Rustom’.
The Sushant Singh Rajput starrer has two more open weeks at the box office, before the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Shivaay’ during Diwali this year. While the ‘pre-diwali’ period has set in, MS Dhoni will continue to perform at lower levels. It could eventually challenge the lifetime totals of films Rustom (128 cr) and Airlift (129 cr).
It isn’t a very profitable film, as a huge chunk of the investment was spent on MS Dhoni and the visuals that were acquired from the cricket board. If a film like Mirzya had performed, MS Dhoni The Untold Story would’ve probably even struggled to recover all of its investment, but the 2 week clean run has helped the film attain ‘clean hit’ status.
The biopic is by far the highest grosser for both the actor (Sushant Singh Rajput) and the director (Neeraj Pandey).

Disaster performance of mirzya and two holidays for dusshera n muharram and open weeks with absolutely no competition r da main reasons for its gud run in da second week.still I feel it can cross airlift to become second highest grosser of d year.
I atleast thought of super hit verdict after seeing the weekend performance.
I am unable to understand that despite being a very good movie plus no competition still failed to cross even 130cr.

I have already said that it will struggle after 1st weekend . The movie is not up to the mark. If mirzya has did well m.s dhoni : the untold story will have struggle for even average verdict.
