UTV Motion Pictures has announced the release date of the industry’s most ambitious film to date, Mohenjo Daro directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film will release in theatres on Friday, January 22nd 2016, giving it two holidays (Sunday and Republic Day) in its first week.
The announcement of the release date also means that Hrithik Roshan will have no movie release in 2015. From the time he made his debut with Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai in 2000, Hrithik hasn’t had a release in year 2005, 2007, 2009 and now 2015.
Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowariker – Mohenjo-daro
Mohenjo Daro, starring Hrithik and newcomer Pooja Hegde, will be directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Emmy Award-winning international costume designer April Ferry has been signed to design the costumes for the entire cast. Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman will compose the music.
The film, a love story set in the Indus Valley civilisation, will be jointly produced by Disney India’s Studio business and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions.
The first shooting schedule will begin in South Africa from October 2014, soon after the release of Bang Bang.
Hrithik is an overrated actor. Its really good that Mohanjodaro is being postponed.
Ashutosh Gowariker is a Flop director. He will score hatrick with Mohenjo Daaro after What’s Your Rashee and Kehlein Hum Jee Jan Sey! Because this is being shot in SA instead of the actual site of the Mohenjo Daaro which is in Pakistan today. No one from Mohenjo Daaro city ever travelled to SA in the ancient time.
Ashutosh is known for just two hits: Lagaan (Super Hit) and Jodha Non-Akhbar (Hit). Anurag Kasyab is more classic than he is. To say simple, Mohenjo Daaro will flop after Bong Bong.

With more than 14 years of career he did only 20 movies as a leading man. Should do more films, before the end of his prime.
Mohanjodaro will be interesting film, it will be film to watch out for. no Aamir & Hrithik in 2015, so next year battle is between Salman & srk. 2015 Not much interesting year for us.Still films like PRDP,Fan,BV,Jagaa jasoos,Baby are watch out for.

Another classical movie in the making, which will be remembered for ages. Technical staff is looking best ever for a Bollywood movie. Kudos to both Ashutosh and Hrithik for taking such a huge risk to make Indian cinema better globally. Hrithik could have easily signed Kabir Khan or Sajid’s next for BO records, but he chose this potential masterpiece. It is a period film, which require a lot of time to create whole new city, which will take time. Hopefully, we will see 2 films from both Hrithik and Aamir in 2016, which is highly unlikely.

@sky no dude. Its still not confirmed that aamir will have no release next year. So you can’t say about that. And if he really doesn’t have any release next year than the battle will be only between Salman vs. Salman. Bcaus next year Salman will have 2 completely different films all together. 1 for masses and other for classes. Also after a long time Salman will do a family drama movie so family audience will flock for that. And lastly, with PRDP Salman has the chance to rule overseas as well. Because overseas audience like family drama films.

i remember wen i went to watch JA, its almost sold out shows even after week its going housefull shows in Nagpur, and i buy 8 tickets in black, for single screen for reserve section i had paid more than 80 rupee exact 85, and its pleassure to watch JA, ppl are lyk going mad ppl delivering dialouges b4 Akbar said on screen, great experience to watch Jodha Akbar… I was in 10th at that time
