Mohenjo Daro Release Date announced, no Hrithik release in 2015

UTV Motion Pictures has announced the release date of the industry’s most ambitious film to date, Mohenjo Daro directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film will release in theatres on Friday, January 22nd 2016, giving it two holidays (Sunday and Republic Day) in its first week.

The announcement of the release date also means that Hrithik Roshan will have no movie release in 2015. From the time he made his debut with Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai in 2000, Hrithik hasn’t had a release in year 2005, 2007, 2009 and now 2015.

Mohenjo Daro, starring Hrithik and newcomer Pooja Hegde, will be directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Emmy Award-winning international costume designer April Ferry has been signed to design the costumes for the entire cast. Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman will compose the music.

The film, a love story set in the Indus Valley civilisation, will be jointly produced by Disney India’s Studio business and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions.

The first shooting schedule will begin in South Africa from October 2014, soon after the release of Bang Bang.

    I am a bit disappointed that there is no hromovies in 2015. But mohenjodaro is an ambitious project.so it needs time.

    His performance in Lakshya was much much better than dhoom 2. Sadly it went unnoticed. Hope he recreates the Jodha -akhtar magic again!

  • All good things are worth the wait. And a Hrithik Roshan- Ashutosh Gowarikar collaboration is definitely worth the wait.

    By the way, 23rd january is also a holiday in parts of India due to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti.
